The Texas Monthly article mentioned he's just starting to get there -- his incoming QB picked Tech over sucklahoma.
I'll be happy for him when kids who excel on defense start picking Tech over Oklahoma or Texas or LSU, etc. Offensive players (Crabtree) are a lot easier to attract to his program than defenders. He'll never get a top program going at Tech as long as he can't recruit the best players on defense.
Well, he might never get it. Leach basically runs an offense that combines the shotgun spread with the run 'n' shoot. And then puts it on crack. Even with great defensive players, remember that they'll only be used to playing against a crazy, ridiculous offense. Texas is the lifeblood of the Big 12. And if you look all over the state, teams score more because it's easier to build an offense than a defense. Hell, Kempner just beat Dulles (who sucks only slightly less than they did when I was there) 54-27. If you're a high school coach, why not put all your best athletes on offense if it gets you a win?
This is my third post...and I actually decided to join CF to add to the army of anti-bastards. This guy is kind of a clown and I mean that in the nicest way possible. UH didnt outplay Tech, UH Outcoached them. Techs weapons are formidable and their QB is solid, but the fact we run the same flippin offense as them all the way down to the motion, told me (and other sane thought producing people) that this game was going to be far from a blow out. I mean come on...both defenses practice against the same offenses every day. Then again the clock management at the end for Tech was a disgrace, using up all your time outs in the third was hilariously stupid. If I had no time outs with Tech's offensive scheme I would have false started the hell out of the 1st down and played ball with the extra 5. With Keenums speed we basically are running a whole game wildcat, I just wonder when either Tech or UH will start to run the Hawaii 6 wide set.
When these opinions become facts, one way or the other, let me know. Otherwise, ignorance is being misused. But, whatever. Sorry that I still think that Tech was the better team. UH was good enough to keep it close enough to take advantage at the end, and they did so.
He's still talking about the game and probably will be all day long. Go for it! I'm listening. Epic moment is epic.
I couldn't pick Fatty out of a lineup, and did not mention him by name. Was using a generic summary of what Tech fans are saying. Fatty is now on hold, and if he continues to hold through the Kubiak press conference, I will go RIGHT to him. Tech fans were complete douche nozzles Sat night. A chick Tech fan was spitting tobacco at my pregnant wife's feet.
That is completely an accurate way to describe Tech. Personally, I never have met a girl from Texas Tech that dipped tobacco. As for my seats? Front row right by the Tech locker room. Not a UH fan near where I was sitting.
ffb, could you at least mention that you're going on after the coach of the team that looks like a c-usa team as opposed to the one from saturday night?
End Zone on the rail, to the right of the mascot and the cheerleaders. I believe we were beneath the band. We were facing the goal line. The end zone seats themselves looked entirely comprised of UH folks.
There were Tech Fans sitting near us in Section 207. They were ok. They cheered for their team like anyone else. When the game ended I patted them on the back and said "Good Game Guys" and they kind of nodded and smiled, obviously not looking forward to dealing with the crowds outside.
