Tech suspended one of its team captains and star OL for next week following some kind of lockerroom meltdown after the game. http://www.redraiders.com/2009/09/27/techs-carter-announces-suspension-via-twitter/ Coogs sank the pirate ship!
I would like to see that happen as well, but doubt that it will since UH isn't in a major conference, and since kids like to get away from home.
All school's care about their track and field if it's a major program that's producing Olympians. And I wouldn't be suprised if Baylor makes more off womens basketball than UH makes off football. Ok, I'm really going out on a limb with that one....
I was at the game - 50 yard line about 10 rows up. We had a lot of Tech fans in our section - it was awesome as some of the loud aspholes got real quiet during the last drive. The place went freaking nuts after the touchdown. I totally understand people rushing the field - it's a huge win for the program and it felt like we were going to lose the game from the 2nd quarter till we stopped them with 5 minutes to go in the 4th. Best football game I've ever been to - even though I was dog-tired after waking up at 5:30 Saturday morning.
No idea. I wish every week I could start a Houston Cougars game thread that got this gigantic. The fans are there... they just need a reason to care.
First, kudos on the thread! I know Bill lettered in baseball at UH from 1964-1966. For some reason, I also thought he was a cheerleader for the basketball team and maybe the football team, but I could be wrong. Anyone know?

Congrats Cougars. I'm a Tech fan, but it's kind of funny to see FFB make such a bold prediction and fall flat on his face.
Pathetic game was pathetic. As others have chimed in, the game was over in the second quarter, and that was with us immediately giving you an opening drive at our 23. Leach made some truly dumb calls to basically kill all hopes, and he failed. And you got lucky by Leach calling FOUR running plays in a row. I was so pissed off when he did that, I left my seat and headed outside. Much to Leach's chagrin, we are NOT a running team. Game sucked. UH got to take advantage of some horrible play-calling. That said, you still aren't nearly as "top ten" status as you think, and deep down, you know it.
were u not watching the game? tech's o line was dominating. they were running the ball with ease. it was the right call
