I think I and anyone else who was at U of H during the Helton/Dimmel era has thick enough skin to laugh this off. I remember the "cheap shot" stuff from back in '98 when Kade McNown and UCLA came down and he mocked the sprinklers at Roberston, and there was a weekly football analyst who talked about late hits on Pallilo and Tom Franklin's old KTRH show. Even as surreal as Keenum's numbers are, I personally wouldn't bank on U of H running the table in- or out-of-conference; just hope we finish the season ranked, win another bowl game and incrementally raise our recruiting profile. We'll always be at risk of having our best local talent sucked dry by everyone; I think that was actually Pardee's original excuse for using the Run-N-Shoot way back when. Mix in a 30,000-seat stadium and no BCS competition, there's just a real risk of long-term mediocrity.
I Hope all the UH fans that made tonight's game the largest in Robertson's history remember to GO VOTE for Prop 4 so UH can reach Tier One status....
this Florida Kentucky game is going too long. doesn't ESPN know that Tebo is out of the game now? They can change it.
http://www.justin.tv/lonewolf10 Good link but the UF game is still on. EDIT: Looks like the game will be streaming on espn360.
Good call. I never go to ESPN unless I'm linked there for an article, so I didn't even know that was an option.
IIRC, the week before the game, McNown had talked about how he'd play in a parking lot if he had to. I was in the band at UH at the time. I had been on that field quite a bit. The comments about sprinkler heads were a complete joke. I believe we broke the leg of a UCLA player on a kick return. I think it was DeShaun Foster.
It's on now. I think they were waiting for Florida/Kentucky to end because they didn't want to "work" if they weren't actually on the air.
