If they can't afford to pay you, then what is there to lose?

Go sit down with him and get the skinny on what is up.

I have started several companies and have had a few payrolls slip, but each time I told the employees what was going on, so they could make their own choice about work etc.

You deserve to be treated with respect, and he would respect you more for standing up for your rights.

Yeah I will take my chances until I find something else. Quitting just isn't an option until then.

Graphic Art / Multimedia but I'm getting quite sick of it. I'm thinking about turning to a life of crime.

When I leave I will post their email here for some fun. I would love to sabotage our biggest clients websites too...

Yeah, it sounds overly simplistic, but that's about it. I don't work for free. Not even for one minute.

    Is this a small company?

Don't do that, but tell your boss that you are going to TELL your clients that you are not being paid.

Late money is better than no money but it might come to that soon.

This guy will never have my respect. He is scum in my eyes.

Sorry to hear about that...Maybe they will never pay you and intend for you to report the violation so that they can fire you...

My cousin is in a start up and he usually is 2 paychecks behind as they drum up business...Good Luck...

I don't care about unions, but the fire at will law should go.

tough deal. I would definitely be spending all my time at work looking for a new job. How many people are still there, sounds like they need to let some people go if they can't make payroll.
Good luck and I hope you get out of there soon.

No it shouldn't, I think it works both ways..you are free to leave anytime and they are free to let you go anytime....it is a mutually beneficial thing.

I don't mean to be rude, but how are they not manipulating you? From your previous posts, it seems your working on the hope that eventually they will pay you.

Well I guess they are. But at least I know it and I don't believe the bull****. I think most of the others are in denial and act like nothing is going on. They think all of their hard work and dedication will be justly rewarded. Some even side with the owners.

in tha very professional YOUCANNOTSUEME way

    Rocket River
"Well . .is he rehirable. . NO!!!"
    - most people translate this as you got fired . .. at worse. . .you walker off the job at best. . and neither of those are attractive to a new potential employer.

I worked for a small company like that and the government was after our ass. Funds were getting low, we weren't even sure if we were going to get paid the next paycheck or not, everyday i was zombie at computer. I'm glad I jumped off that ship, because the owner could care less about any of the workers and more worried about his cars. Just chunk the deuce, took a less paying, crappy (but not as crappy) job for the summer, now have an even better job and life is good again..the moral is that if you're not happy something's gotta change!
