That is, with all due respect, one of the more stupid posts you have made here. D&D. Impeach Bush and Cheney.
Score a point for Christians! Hey, it's about time. Libs, you are recently very fond of polls, what would the Texas polls say here? Obviously they would support this.
Really disgusting. Particularly the free education part - every nation in the world provides free education - it would be utterly stupid not too considering the amount of global competition. THis women would be the downfall of America. Anyone who espouses this view really is stupid, and it's the reason I've become disgusted with the Republican party, which has been overrun with Christian fanatics.
But that would be breaking the law! And we know how you feel about being a "stickler" for laws. Well, it would appear you just put your foot in your mouth. And please don't argue this point. I'd hate to have to pull out all of your recent higher than thou "The law is the law" posts.
Interesting topic of discussion. I'd have to agree with MadMax on this one. I am also a believer, and frankly, I do not agree with nor advocate forcing someone to say the word "God" for the sake of compliance. I'm pretty sure Jesus would agree too.
AND ANOTHER THING....... I've found, in my ripe old age of 34, that if you force, press, or impose Christianity on people......and it's debatable as to whether this is the case here or not.....it serves to be counterproductive to spreading the good news anyway. There are other, more effective ways, such as being an example in how you live your life and serve others around you. Saying the word "God" as part of a daily ritual, at school no less, is probably not going to have much of an impact. Just invite them to the "Turn or Burn" picnic that your church is having. (That's a joke)
ugh. i can't tell you how bothersome this approach is to me given the fact she's out there trumpeting my faith tradition.
absolutely...Christianity, at its heart, is counter-cultural. the "world" that Jesus talks about hating isn't creation...it's the "system." systems that are me-first and dehumanizing. that prize efficiency over human beings. its when the church becomes swallowed by the culture that it forgets to be salt and light to the world.
not the good kind of Christian fanatic...i would argue they're fanatics of something other than Jesus Christ. but God loves indiscriminately.
Opposing free education and medical care sounds like libertarianism, not Christianity. She might justify her libertarianism with her religion, but it does seem a little unfair to lay the blame/credit at Christianity's door. They've got plenty of crazy fanatics that are not libertarian.
Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waiting for a train And I's feeling nearly as faded as my jeans. Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained, It rode us all the way to New Orleans. I pulled my harp on out of my dirty red bandanna, I was playing soft while Bobby sang the blues. Windshield wipers slapping time, I was holding Bobby's hand in mine, We sang every song that driver knew. Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose, Nothing don't mean nothing honey if it ain't free, now now. And feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues, You know feeling good was good enough for me, Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee. From the Kentucky coal mines to the California sun, Hey, Bobby shared the secrets of my soul. Through all kinds of weather, through everything we done, Hey Bobby baby? kept me from the cold. One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away, He's looking for that home and I hope he finds it, But I'd trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday To be holding Bobby's body next to mine. Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose, Nothing, that's all that Bobby left me, yeah, But feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues, Hey, feeling good was good enough for me, hmm hmm, Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee. La la la, la la la la, la la la, la la la la La la la la la Bobby McGee. La la la la la, la la la la la La la la la la, Bobby McGee, la. La La la, la la la la la la, La La la la la la la la la, hey now Bobby now Bobby McGee yeah. Na na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na na na na na Hey now Bobby now, Bobby McGee, yeah. Lord, I'm calling my lover, calling my man, I said I'm calling my lover just the best I can, C'mon, hey now Bobby yeah, hry now Bobby McGee, yeah, Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lord Hey, hey, hey, Bobby McGee, Lord! Yeah! Whew! Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lord Hey, hey, hey, Bobby McGee.
You know, when I was a kid growing up in Texas, we did the pledge of allegiance every morning... followed by the Houston Oilers fight song. I'm not kidding. There was more participation in the fight song than the pledge actually. Man oh man was that song every bad though. Tubas, nasal vocals, and the pace of a glacier.
