Was there after work for five hours lulz. You coming to the game, homie? I might be at the kappa sig tailgate as well. Find me <3
Until the Big East gets some stronger football programs, their automatic bid should be taken away. Just thought I'd put that in a UH thread for when they join next year.
Fun fact: the 2013 Big East members have a collectively higher BCS ranking than the 2013 members of the ACC over the past 5 years.
14 teams from the Big East have played in the BCS bowls. 10 have left or are leaving. 5 of their BCS teams left for the ACC and big 12. 3 more left for the ACC 6 years ago. I guess you are counting Boise in there? That's fair but West Virgina has finishing in the top 25 in four of those years and the ACC bound teams have finished in the top 25 as well. I don't know dude. Big East still has a lot to prove to be considered a top tier conference. Word is they are trying to expand to 14 teams. I'm betting they get a tie in to the Sugar or Fiesta bowl now that the big12 and sec have their own game which will be a great payout.
Looks like I'm getting off work early today. Hopefully the rain wont ruin my tailgating. Any other Bobcat Alumni going?
Dennis Franchione is in town. In a related story, all grocery stores in town have sold out of Little Debbie snack cakes.
Come 2013, it'll tell whether it belongs as an automatic bid conference or not. I just don't feel as though looking at some of the programs that are joining and the ones who are leaving/left, it should have an automatic bid. The ACC has some really big programs in their conference. FSU, Clemson, Miami, and VTech.
Bids for what? There is no BCS series. Nothing will guarantee them a spot in any big time bowl. The big 12 and SEC champs will always go to their own game. The ACC champ will always go to the Orange bowl. They just need to find a tie and make their own deal in which I'm sure they will find with the Sugar Bowl or the Fiesta Bowl.
I mean I guess they can make a 1 year agreement. Seems like a waste of time. Maybe they get a bid for next year but I think what comes into place when the BCS goes away is going to be the statement of the conference.
Spoiler Especially to the part about UH scoring 10 points I think only one team has done that in the last five years and that was in part because UH lost 2 QB's that game (UCLA in 2010)
