Got damn...68-14 and its still in the 3rd quarter. Our defense needs to get better. Wish I was at the game =\ Go Coogs!
I'm not watching, but did Keenum even play in the 2nd half? He had 270+ yards passing and 5 TD's in the first half. Coogs had 54 points at halftime, I believe. It looked like they brought in the backups for the 2nd half.
My old highschool classmate Cotton Turner made an appearance. 32,100 in attendance! Our football team at this rate is gonna score more points than our basketball team lol. Next victim, El Paso!
I'm not a UH alum, but I feel like a Coug. Always have. I have no idea if anyone else feels this way. Go, Houston. Go, hometown team. Go, Cougs. Sincerely, Native Houstonian, Born & Raised Texas Fan, and OU Alum. (Go figure)
Cougars, like the Rockets, are a 1st class organization. They have no bad character guys on their respective squads.
Yeah. I have vague memories of Phi Slama Jama and I remember the later days of the SWC and I remember Andre Ware and all of that good stuff. I also remember the downfall of the program that came with the dissolution of the SWC, and that pissed me off rather magnificently. I've always rooted for Houston-anything, and I always will. I do find it interested though....my dad raised me to cheer for (the State of) Texas first. Period. This included the Cowboys (he was from that part of the state, so I can't blame him too much). I went to HS in San Marcos, so I spent a LOT of time in Austin, which really cemented my love for UT. My dad hated A&M, but that's only because he was a band director and thought the Aggie "Band" was trash. I agreed and I still agree. In fact, it's the only reason I didn't even apply to A&M: I wanted to be in a good band, big school or small. Still though: Texas first. I got into UT, but another school gave me money, so I went there instead (Hardin-Simmons Univ. out in Jesus-crazy Abilene). As I got older as a native Houstonian, I naturally grew to hate the Cowboys, which gradually extended to hatred for all of the Dallas teams. And then I wound up going to OU for my second undergrad. My aunt and uncle went to OU, so I guess it's cool to have a family tradition of sorts. All of this long-ass story has resulted in a Texas-loving, Houston-loving Longhorn fan who went to OU. And people wonder why I'm so screwed up when college football season rolls around.
John Cotton Turner from Dulles HS. He is the favorite to start next year but I wouldn't be surprised if Terrance Broadway or David Piland started. I'm glad the Coogs have Jason Phillips. Next head coach if Sumlin leaves. Great guy.
I'm talking about this year, but Coleman just did something stupid in the heat of the moment. He doesn't deserve to be labelled a thug because of it though.
