How do you think they'll respond? I see a rampage now, honestly, but you're more informed than me on the matter, obviously.
Back in 1999, Rice was the #1 seed in a regional in Lubbock and dropped the first game to Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The two teams met again the next day and Rice won 27-1. Rice came back and won that regional and ended up going to the College World Series. Rice will be ready.
Props to TSU! As a graduate of another small school (SHSU), I love to see this kind of thing happen. Score one for the underdog! That said, I'm still pulling for Rice to win it all. If not Rice, then Texas.
Is he an immigrant. I went to TSU's graduation two years ago and I noticed they had a lot of foreign students. Technically, TSU is a larger school than Rice. That's what's so impressive about Rice's athletics.
Wait a minute...I'm confused. How can Rice fans rub it in against us Texas fans about their superiority if they didn't get out of their regional? Won't it be weird seeing the Owls supporters doing the "Horns Down" thing again without the actual team being in Austin next week, or even in Omaha? This is disheartening.... I can't believe that Rice would stoop to this level! Losing to the Aggies on purpose just so they don't have to face Texas, and avoiding their retribution! Dammit, Rice, you get over on us Longhorns again! And if we win it all, the fact that you bowed out early will haunt us eternally, even as we flex our muscles in football, basketball, baseball, swimming, golf, track and field, volleyball....The fact that we had to "settle" for a regular season sweep of Rice, and a National title in baseball only a couple of years ago, will be something us Horns fans take to our grave! That, my friends, is sarcasm..... Good luck to the Horns vs. Vandy, and best of luck to all the Rice talent in the MLB draft. In all seriousness, that is awesome that the Owls have 3 prospects that could go in the top 10. Plenty of kudos to that coaching staff for developing some immense pitching talent that we'll look forward to at the next level.
Looks like I will be going to Austin.. are the reserved seat at the stadium at texas worth the little extra cost over the general admissoins.. ive never been to that stadium..
I was happy for Rice last year; I always liked the school. As for the few with insecurity problems who made a big deal about it last year, they probably realized that they would need to take full advantage of their big win over Texas; they just cannot compete year-in year-out with the likes of Texas.
