It is a backlash against the LGBT community because conservatives lost the Gay marriage issue. Idiots like Dan Patrick look for something to try to attack that community. First it was those religious freedom bills, now its the bathroom bills. North Carolina has suffered because their bill. Texas is trying to have their cake and eat it too, by trying to say private businesses can choosing to ignore the law for their venues ( trying to prevent big sporting events from boycotting the state). Nice try....i think that except wont work.
I'm going to say it's less of a stretch that groups are acting on the issues they say they are because they feel there is a need to, than to believe some other motive that you assign to them without having the knowledge they have of issues that affect them.
Yeah, that might make sense if that's the order that this happened in.....it's not. The issue was first pushed by LGBT groups when they tried to pass legislation saying that trannies could do whatever they felt like doing whenever they feel like doing it and businesses would be fined if they didn't just allow it. The reason they pushed for that was that the gay marriage issue was settled and they had nothing else to drive donations.....which meant they might be out of a job. By pushing for that awful legislation, they got the backlash they wanted when a round of equally awful legislation preventing trannies from just using whatever facilities they felt like using at the time. This whole thing is a scam, and people on the extremes of both sides are playing right into it because they are too stupid to see it for what it is.
This is shifting gears but you seam to really promote this so as a Christian, do you think it is okay to be transgender? Do you think anything to to do with LBGTQ is okay within the framework of the Bible? If so, please let me know specific scriptures you see that guide this principle? If not why support it?
1. As a Christian I'm not going to judge someone else for their choices. That is between them and God, and not for me to judge. There are numerous passages to support that. 2. Even if I did think it was wrong, I wouldn't want it be part of government law. I don't need my beliefs to be part of the law. They are my beliefs. Other folks are entitled to their beliefs, and they don't need to be law either.

I'm not supporting the murder of babies. Killing murderers and rapists is in no way the Christian thing to do. It might feel good to your sense of justice, but has zero to do with Christianity.
Dan Patrick and his "conservative" ("common sense and decency") scoreboarding at the expense of basic human rights. Hopefully the courts will correct this wingnut legislative assault on civil rights.

I think people do "basic human rights" a disservice by abusing the term in order to try and make political points. It's not a "basic human right" to use whatever facility you want. Anyway, the real winner here is the LGBT community who now has something to drive fundraising.

Good for your friend. I think what you are missing here is that the LGBT groups don't really care about your friend, they care about fundraising. That was my point. This non-issue was the closest thing to a real issue they could come up with so now they are pretending to care about it......and in turn others are pretending now to care about it. LOL, adorable.
