Yeah but by now I'm sure people are used to simple minded individuals calling people bigots frivolously. It has absolutely no value anymore. I just don't think that fear of bad leftist policy should lead to bad right wing policy.
Stop being a hypersensitive baby. Have you ever been to a unisex bathroom? And seriously do you want a trans female in the men's restroom with you? I'm sure that would freak you out too.
serious question...how do you want to enforce the bathroom ban? what would you do if you saw someone you suspected to be transgendered go into a bathroom? would you follow them in? would you call the cops? in all practicality, your bathroom bill is totally unenforceable...unless you want to set up the TSA outside of every public restroom and have them grabbing our crotches before entering. there are more reported cases of republican politicians engaging in bathroom shenanigans than there are transgendered people assaulting others in public restrooms. what do you want to do about that?
Should set up a police officer outside bathrooms. If you want to use the bathroom you gotta get your crotch felt up to see which bits should go to which bathroom. This should be enforceable to infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults. No one should be above the law! The law is the law after all! We must keep our children and women safe! Support the crotch check bathroom bill today!
NBA to Texas: bathroom bill would be out of bounds AUSTIN -- Days after pro football called on Texas lawmakers to punt on a controversial transgender "bathroom bill," the NBA is warning that passage of the measure could affect the league's decisions on whether to bring key events, including its All-Star Game, to the Lone State State. In a statement to Fox Business, a National Basketball Association spokesman said that making sure its fans are treated "fairly and equally" is an important factor in determining where it chooses to host key events. "We consider a wide range of factors when making decisions about host locations for league-wide events like the All-Star Game, foremost among them is ensuring the environment where those who participate and attend are treated fairly and equally," NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement on Thursday. "The NBA and the NFL have lost their minds, as well as their moral compass," Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said in response to the leagues' warnings. "They are shaking in their sneakers because they're so afraid of political correctness." ... Listed as a top legislative priority by Patrick, he and Gov. Greg Abbott have insisted that the proposed Texas law is unlike the North Carolina law and is not discriminatory. Rather, they have said, it is just a move to protect Texans' privacy in restrooms in government buildings. It does not cover private businesses. ... Abbott, who has not taken a firm position on the bill authored by Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham, this week warned the league to "get the heck out of politics" during an appearance on conservative commentator Glenn Beck's talk show. "We don't care what the NFL thinks and certainly what their political policies are because they are not a political arm of the state of Texas or the United States of America. They need to learn their place in the United States, which is to govern football, not politics," Abbott said. In an interview on Fox News, Abbott widened his criticism and promised to pass legislation in Texas to require that NFL players put their hand over their heart when the national anthem is played -- a reference to player protests in recent months.
I love how laughably hypocritical liberals can be sometimes. Just a couple years ago, when HERO failed, all of you were yelling at the top of your lungs "it had nothing to do with bathrooms!!!" Which was the primary reason HERO failed in the first place. You kids.
I missed the part that was hypocritical, so if you could explain that, it'd be great. From I've heard though, Patrick has let off the accelerator on this one a bit recently as he focuses on other initiatives (like the sanctuary city stuff). Maybe that means he'll let it die a quiet death?
One can only hope. He's one of the reasons my significant other retired from her executive position with a legislative commission. Patrick doesn't improve when you get to know him well.
One day y'all are saying that bathrooms won't change, next day you're demanding they change. Do I need to find the definition for you?
what are you talking about? again, what are you talking about? since commodore disappeared would you be willing to tell me how exactly you want to enforce this bill?
There is no need for this bill. The only reason is so cities can't pass HERO-type of bills. Also, it just an attack on the LGBT community. They cannot ban gay marriage , so they try to instill fear and confusion. It wont stop predators from entering bathrooms, as the current laws don't either.
Okay, so if this transgender woman had to go into the men's room, would it create more or less of a problem than if she was able to go to the women's restroom? What about if this transgender man had to go into the women's restroom? My supposition is that they will encounter more trouble because of this law than if they were allowed to use the restroom of their choice. If you think about these laws critically they are counter intuitive and stupid.
Much like concealed carry if it is concealed, no one knows. I doubt they would be prone to crank inspection. These vast minority outliers (outliers among outliers) don't really change how anyone should feel about these laws.
From what I can tell the target of these laws are sex predators. I have no idea if prosecutors need these laws to stop them or not. What I do know is I am really tired of all of our politics being logjammed dealing with them. From what I can tell, even the trans community isn't in agreement on them and it is just the activists that are constantly up in arms.
