You also don't use punctuation correctly.

You have really fallen off. You've gone from bible prophecy and evolution is fake to criticizing my punctuation? That's just rude.

You have me mistaken señior. I don't discuss Bible prophecy with you and I would really like to see my evolution is fake argument linked.

Take some time off. Center yourself. You are really close to the edge.

Riiiiight, you were actually on about how the bible clearly indicates that the Earth is a sphere (though it clearly doesnt) and that was kind of blown to bits by the fact that the Catholic Church imprisoned Galileo for heresy after claiming that the Earth was a sphere.

Yes, soooo close to the edge. Haha

The fact that the bible reports the earth as spherical isn't Bible prophecy.

I do not agree with the Catholic church on many points of doctrine and their decision does not speak for all of Christendom.

Stop at no means, even if they have to try to change the time stamp on the vote. I am glad they are taking action against the demonstrators, not problem taking away 1st amendment rights with Dewhurst.

Sorry for derailing this thread even more but I just can't ignore this. As I recall the Bible says the Earth is a CIRCLE not a sphere. Big difference.

the democratic process includes judicial review---

Citizens protesting a clearly unconstitutional law will precede courts that will strike down clearly unconstitutional laws.

Is that a disturbing trend, or have you just been following the Supreme Court for the last three end-of-term rulings?

Are you suggesting Judicial review be taken out of the Constitution?

If we had wanted that in a democracy, we'd have written a bill of rights or something.

John Oliver two days describing the role of the Supreme Court: “Give us your keys, you’re really going to regret segregating schools tomorrow!”

I'm suggesting marriage should be defined by the people, not judges.

Just like how "the people" used to think segregated schools were a good thing?

    1. Judges are people.
2.Judges are representatives of The People.
3.The People carefully designed their system with judges in recognition of the whims of groupthink and the power that larger groups have to discriminate against smaller groups.
    4. What is the sample size for your definition of people. Why don't we let individual people define it for themselves or does it have to be your race or your religion.

Actually, the Tenth Amendment provides that all powers not given to the federal government by the Constitution are reserved to the states. There are states that recognize same sex marriages. DOMA denied benefits under these unions. It was Congress in DOMA that attempted to define marriage. The Supreme Court essentially said that it is the state that defines marriage. The federal government does not get to overturn the power of the states to define marriage.

I will opine on this further after I have had a chance to read the full opinion.
