A good friend of mine went to Nederland. What a coincidence. I think he was class of 92. What about you?
As for me, go Crime Forest... err, Klein Forest!

    Southlake Carroll 22
    Euless Trinity 21

Man, ET should have won this game and ended "the streak" but they tried a fake punt in their own territory that failed and led to SLC's go-ahead TD. Horrible coaching decision. Apparently, there were almost 47,000 people in Texas Stadium to watch this game.

This sets up a great matchup between Southlake Carroll (12-0) and Odessa Permian (9-3) in Lubbock on Saturday afternoon. Nine 5A state championships between these 2 schools. Past dynasty vs. present dynasty. Interesting that SLC has modeled their whole program after Permian's from back in the day. Should be a helluva game. Go MOJO!

If SC and Colleyville Heritage both win, they'll face each other next week...Only significance here is that they're from the same district and SC crushes them every year...

Cy-Fair lost today to Pearland. Hell of a game though. But Cy-Falls was able to beat Katy. Westfield lost too.

Wow. Katy outscored their first three opponents something like 128-14. I thought they were going to kill Cy-Falls.

Hell of a game between Cy Fair/Pearland.

I didn't get into town to make it to any of Pearland's games this year ... but went to this one and last week against Cinco Ranch. This team definitely has something special about them. They play with heart and they're as resilient as it it gets. I think we saw the best RB in the area (and maybe state) today ... and he wasn't from Cy Fair. Say hello to the future of the Longhorns - Fozzy Whittaker.

Can't wait for Pearland/Westlake. Hopefully I'll be able to make it.

My best friend went to that game...He said it was amazing the last couple of minutes...Glad to see the highlights on the news...What a great catch on 4th down and the determination to get into the endzone was amazing with 15 tics left...

The Pearland v. Westlake will be a great game, as will the SC v. Allen...
Pearland and SC win and Pearland wins state...

    Go Oilers!!!!

I can't BELIEVE Katy lost! I had a gig there yesterday and the whole town was in mourning. I thought they would ROLL all the way to the State Championship.

My t-shirt team (Odessa Permian) lost to Southlake Carroll last weekend. I don't think anyone can touch SLC this year. Euless Trinity was the only team and they blew it.

Well, my high school is in the 3A Division I state championship for the 2nd time in history. They won it back in 99 (I think), which was my sophomore year of high school. They won by the 2nd largest margin of victory in state championship history, 42 points. The final score was 48-6, with that 6 points being scored on the JV players with a minute or two left. It was actually really funny to see them score, because their fans used all of their streamers and celebratory gear on that ONE touchdown at the end, so it looked like they had just scored the game winning TD because they ahd so much crap they had to get rid of. I remember it being something like 34-0 at halftime. The team they played that year was from some town down south called Mathis. I can honestly say that team wouldn't have made the playoffs in my high school's district that year. They were absolutely pitiful. The team was pretty much 100% Mexican, which meant that they were terribly slow. I remember the guys on our football team talking about how slow they looked on film and it was the truth. How they made it to the state championship, I have no clue, but that was one of the more fun memories I had of high school.

Anyways, my HS is playing a team from Robinson, right outside of Waco. They're playing this Saturday in Dallas at the SMU stadium. I suspect this game will be a lot closer than the last time they were in the state championship game.

I can't decide between a Michael Irvin joke or a Swoly-D faints joke. Maybe I should start a poll.

You know, in anticipation of Swoly-D fainting, I almost took out that line, but it was the truth.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.....Pearland wins state...HAHAHAHAHA...

no, seriously...I hope they do. Any SLC loss is a good loss. Especially when its to a Houston team in the State Final ala..Katy a few years back.

oh yeah...Heard on the Radio this morning that Todd Dodge IS taking that North Texas Job...so maybe SLC will be distracted for the next two weeks.

    Go Pearland...represent H-town well.

Hmmmmm, very interesting. Should be interesting to see if they can keep that program together. Something tells me they can. But that's a great career move for Dodge.

Doesn't his son play for him at SLC? Is he a senior? Is he being recruited? I could be totally wrong, we don't get much info about them here in Houston.

Southlake Carroll vs Austin Westlake next week for the division 1 title.

Just got back from College Station from Pearland/Westlake, hell of a game. Pearland down 35-17 with about 8 minutes left in the 4th, scored a touchdown, recovered an onside kick, scored again to make it 35-32. Couldn't get another onside though, and Westlake ran the clock out as Pearland had used up all the timeouts. Put another minute on the clock and Pearland probably wins (or if they could've shut down several 3rd and 10 conversions in the first half).

All of you UT fans on the board are going to have fun watching Fozzy Whittaker (Pearland's HB) for the next few years. He moved up to #6 all time in Texas history after today to finish his HS career. After Westlake scored to get to 35, Fozzy was put in to return the kick, and with most of Westlake's special teams playing it safe, he ran over 2 guys (he's only about 5'8 maybe 185), then pulled a couple of Reggie Bush-esque jukes before being forced out at midfield. On normal kickoff coverage he would've scored.

Also, Southlake dominated Allen 38-0. From what I've read Allen's star QB got hurt.

So that's what all this commotion is outside right now. We did have the Lamar Hunt Memorial Service earlier today but that finised a while ago. I was also wondering why there was so many African Americans walking around in jerseys

Oh well, good luck to your team!
