My mistake it was the big news going around campus at pearland for the past week. I should of looked into it instead of taking the word of the student body.

I'd like to see that Game. I've seen Celina play probably a dozen times over the last several years. Including the game they lost to Daingerfield that snapped their 71 game win streak. Butch Ford's a great Coach. I look to Celina winning it.

Katy is a good team, but this year, every team they played were junk (except Smithson Valley). If you look at the teams that others had to play (like CyRidge's schedule), youd understand how much of an easy schedule Katy had. LaPorte? Humble??? DICKINSON?

    Please.

they don't set up the schedule. they took care of business every week and they are now appearing in their 7th state title game in the last 12 years and 4th in the last 6. i'm not going to say a team isn't the true champion when they win the six games necessary to win state. that's tough to do no matter who you are (ask north shore).

I never said they set up the schedule. I also didnt say Katy was a bad team. I know how good they are, my schools played them tons of times (CyFalls). All I said was that this was their "down year" or "reloading year" and they happened to get lucky with some easy scheduling in the playoffs. They had the easiest possible path out of all the teams in DII, just look at the brackets. They might not have won had they played some actual good teams. Smithson Valley is good, ill give you that... but everybody else was junk

I really dont get where you are getting that the teams they played are junk. Dickinson was a 9-3 team who beat a very good Beaumont West Brook team the week before playing Katy. Humble was not a bad team either, 7-3 (5-1 in district) so would put it as 2/4 teams were some what weak but that is what the early rounds of the playoffs are for.

I will give you La Porte was not a great team but was playing well at the right time. And you are right about Stratford, they came from a weak district and went 1-3 vs KISD schools this year in the playoffs.(sorry Buttercup, but it is what it is) If Katy is fortunate enough to win will anyone give a damn who they played?

I am not sold that this state game is going to be a cake walk like everyone is saying.

It was a good game. Celina has a good RB but they were just over matched tonight by Carthage. Carthage won 49-37... Carthage went into halftime down by 4 and rallied in the 2nd half. If we had played each other a 2nd time I would put money it would have been another close one.

katy goes back to back. glad that punk from wylie got ejected. i was making fun of the throw him out chants we were hearing, but after seeing replays, he deserves to be kicked off the team for crap like that.

Hightower probably should have won that game. They blew going up 14-0 on the goal line. They would have returned the 2nd half kickoff for a TD but their own man knocked the returner down. Once the interception happened, their composure was gone.

Plus, it seemed obvious that Allen was much better coached, at least on offense. Props to the Allen staff for their deception on offense that completely fooled Hightower a few key times. If the coaches switched players, the Allen coaches would have won by 20-30 points.

Allen executed when the game was on the line. They gambled on 4th down three times late in the game and came up lucky instead of looking stupid.

The play before the first conversion, Hightower ran into the kicker setting up 4th and inches. On the second conversion, Phillip Steward (UH commit) lit up the Allen QB (might have been helmet to helmet). Allen almost had a third conversion.

I feel bad for Shaun Lewis cause he is the most talented guy on that defense and he's a junior...all his good teammates are graduating and going D1 next year.

The scary thing about Katy is that they are going to be better next year than they were this year. 3 peat anyone?

I really want to see an Undisputed Class 5A State Championship between Katy(D-2 winners) and Allen(D-1 winners) on New Year's Day, But that's not going to happen. I don't like the 2 division system, there should be 1 state champion in each class/level.
