I wanted to go see the Cy Creek (my alma mater) game but something else came up. I could probably make it if it weren't on the other side of town. Should be a shoot-out. I haven't been back to a Cy Creek game since the Sam Adams days. I really wish I could go because this is FOOTBALL weather.
Hightower has the best chance of anyone at NS until the state Quarterfinals. Hightower is underrated while NS may be a bit overrated. Being from NS, I certainly hope the 'Stangs win, but this is the scariest game they have for a couple of weeks. I think it will be very close. I think Joey McGuire (Cedar Hill) can outcoach Wasson (SLC). But Neither team is what they used to be. It really comes down to Mcguires coaching versus Carroll's offense. The Carroll defense is not what it used to be at all.
You could not have been any more correct about the NS vs FBH game tonight! I wish I could have seen it. It sets up a great game against Cinco Ranch, which has been smoking schools since the Katy upset. I know that I am looking ahead a bit but I would also like to see E. Trinity vs Odessa Permian happen in the quaters this year. That game alone is worth putting on tv.
My cousin plays LT for Cy creek. I watched their last game vs. cy springs. The team is very well balanced.
Katy just kicked the crap out out of La Porte 42-0 today. Easily the most dominate Houston area team the last decade. Simthson Valley will be real test next week.
Hightower will be playing at DKR Memorial in Austin next weekend (Saturday @ 4PM) 'Canes beat Pearland 38-21!
Katy back in the state title game going for #6. They laid a beat down on Smithson Valley today 41-19.
yeah, a 13-1 smithson valley was junk and katy never does anything in the playoffs. what katy has been able to accomplish in the past 15 years or so is just unreal. they have made it to the state quarterfinals 12 of the past 13 years. unbelievable.
Carthage will be playing Celina for the 3A Division 2 Championship game. We've always had an ok team in Carthage but they've been rolling this year.
Why? Why spread this random garbage? Faos, he is referencing a Pearland blogger's online journal in which he questions the eligibility of Hightowers players in general... UIL is a monster in terms of this, please don't tell me you think they wouldn't have done anything... These are high school kids- not professionals. Learn decency, my friend. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/hso/6163825.html ^ My proof. What's yours?
Lets ****ing see You play stratford who was 5-3. No andrew Luck this year btw Then you play a weak Humble team that was only int he 2nd round because they played another horrible team in round 1. Then for the 3rd round, you play Dickinson, another junk team that got there by playing weaker opponents in round 1 and 2. Then you play Laporte who was 5-4 to enter the playoffs. Theyre normally a good team but this year they were having a down year. So dont bother using the argument that "Laporte is an annual powerhouse". Then you run into Smithson Valley, finally a good opponent but one with a decent offense. They were more known for defense but the defense let them down against Katy. So 3/4 opponents were junk.
This year's Hightower football team is like the Willowridge basketball team that had TJ Ford, Daniel Ewing, and I forget the name of the other guy. Division I talent at every position.
Super 25 boys basketball rankings 12/16/2001 2. Willowridge, Sugar Land, Texas (39-0) Previous: 2. Recap: Won its second consecutive 5A state crown. Coach Ronnie Courtney improved his overall record to 237-120 in 12 years. Seniors Daniel Ewing (17.2 points), Kenny Taylor (14.2), T.J. Ford (13.4), Andre Watson (16.9) and Curtis Walker (10.5) averaged in double digits.
I can't wait to see Garret Gilbert in burnt orange. Against Friendswood... 253 yds passing, 3 tds 131 yds rushing, 3 tds This is a week after beating Killeen 71-9 in the quarterfinals.
so, the playoffs were full of junk teams basically? whatever dude. katy is one of the best, if not the best programs in the state. try your best to argue against 12 quarterfinals out of 13. we'll happily beat the junk teams to win yet another state championship.
