Well, no ND, but I will still definitely be there supporting the Owls! We've gotta take W Michigan seriously and go for 10-3 which would be a great accomplishment.
While UH certainly has no room to talk about attendance, the Texas Bowl last year did really well. I am really worried for the Texas Bowl.. as W. Michigan should bring approx. 32 fans. It's going to be up to the surrounding community to fill in the other 62,135 seats.
Texas Bowl people are saying 50,000 tickets have already been sold. I think that alot of them went to people hoping for ND or people thinking UH would be there. I think that the tickets sold will get up to 60k, but the number of no-shows could be pretty high. Financially it will be a success (50k is already a success in that regard), but the atmosphere might not be that good. I will be there for sure.
The teams involved in the Texas Bowl are obligated to "buy" 50K tickets... and then resell them. So those tickets haven't been bought by fans or the houston community. Which is why I'm worried that the number of butts in the seats and people watching on TV (Ok State v. Oregon on ESPN is on at the same time) will be awful for the bowl's reputation.
I bought tickets expecting UH and ND. Oh well, but who is Western Michigan? Rival votes the Texas Bowl as one of the best bowl games. Interesting.
I'll be there tonight. I saw some Western Michigans guys yesterday walking around downtown. They're staying at the Hyatt downtown.
Thanks for the info. Now bigtexxx knows where to go for his annual post-game slap and tickle fight. I mean, street brawl.
Definitely....their Offense hasn't been questioned this season, but the Defense has really stepped up in this game. Let's hope they keep it up in the second half.
Oh, and that Casey dude. His chick is pretty hot. Real nice looking girl. Not hot stripper skank hot, but, wow, she will make a damn fine wife some day kind of hot.
That QB Chase Clement, he played really great! This was the first Rice game I saw this season, and they looked good.
Ohhhhhhhh. Ok. Kinda know why her shirt says Ms. Casey on it. It was a pretty decent crowd. Maybe 35,000, 40,000 people. You couldn't really tell at first because people didn't sit down til the end of the first quarter.
