Anyone been here, in Dripping Springs? https://www.crimsoncreekbbq.com/ Meeting a friend there Friday
Still loving Truth, Pit Room, Pinkertons and Roegels. The Roegels Rueben Thursday is incredible but you feel like dogshit the rest of the day
My problem with Roegels is that they don't seem to have a limit on how much pepper they'll use and my digestive system doesn't agree with that. Everytime I've eaten there, I've had about 5 minutes from leaving to find a relief spot. That pepper burns right through me. Truth is the best in the city, IMO. I provided equipment for the new Pit Room but I haven't been yet. The original location is good but it doesn't blow me away like Truth, Corkscrew, or Tejas does consistently. If you're in or near The Woodlands, 3rd Coast BBQ is likely to make the next Texas Monthly list. Rosenmyers BBQ also was just named a Bib Gourmand spot by Michelin.
Really? Good to know. Tried BB once and wasn’t super impressed but maybe I caught it on a bad day (others swear by it)
The Rueben specifically was awesome. If that's your bag I'd recommend it. Their other stuff is alright but can get better elsewhere.
I haven't been there, but they have been getting plenty of Buzz lately. Here is a link about some of it. Burnt Bean Co. praised by Esquire for new Texas-style barbecue Tejano cuisine got a huge shoutout.
When I was in town last I hit up the Hickory pit, which is on Bel-Air and South Rice if I remember right. I’m 39 now and I have memories of going there as a child. It’s like the same guy working there as it was for the last 30 years pretty cool.. The food was still excellent. I think the barbecue and the sausage is just average but my favorite sauce in the world is from the Luling place on Richmond. I order that sauce by the case
The only good thing about Rudy's is their sauce. I have a bottle of it in the fridge as we speak. If you've ever had their food you'll understand why they needed to make a great sauce.
