    Absolutely unbelievable! Gig Em Aggies!!!!!

I hope this is enough to give us a spot in the ncaa tourney regardless of what happens the rest of the way. Winning record in conference and 4th place in Big 12. That should be enough.

And I hope everyone in the big 12 does great in the ncaa tourney so they can shut up about the big 12 being so weak

that was definitely an interesting strategy PJ employed there at the end. dribble at halfcourt until the shotclock expires and then let the other team have the last shot. very generous.

and gibson with horrible D at the end. backed way too far off and then, on not much of a crossover, ends up about 5 feet off of law. uhh, how about you get up on him. they only had 3.6 seconds left, no much time to do much else but raise up and shoot.

i only saw the last 3 minutes but the fact we had 39 when i walked in tells me we shot like absolute crap and turned it over a bunch. this squad is so schizophrenic. we can beat villanova, memphis on the road handily, blow kansas out of the building, and then lose to a&m or get blown out by 20. i guess 3 seed is the best we can hope for now. if we survive to the elite 8 i'll consider the tournament a success. that'll require the good version of the team to actually show up 3 times in a row.

interestingly, by winning a&m knocks themselves from 5th to 4th, which means they won't get a 5-12 matchup in the Big 12 tourney, which means they'll probably have to play 4-5 for their first game, which might keep their amazing streak of never winning a Big 12 tourney game alive, even in a year when they're decent.

    Rick Barnes Sucks!

Hell talent-wise we are probably better than Duke. Coaching wise, we will never make it to the final 8.

Hasn't he taken a team to the final four?

Just got back from the game. It was a great game and the best finish you could ever hope for. A&M played great defense all night. I still see nothing special in gibson. Aldridge seems like he could dominate every game, why doesn't he? PJ Tucker is really good, but plays out of control. It seems like paulino is their big shot guy (maybe just the games i have seen). We should be in the tournament

On Gibson - Agreed. He's a good defender and shooter, he'll be an ok role player in the NBA off the bench, maybe a Lindsey Hunter type.

On Aldridge - He's gotten a ton stronger, but has a ways to go. I blame part of it on Gibson..

On Tucker - He's just not the brightest cookie, though he usually has a pretty good basketball IQ. I actually think he's a lot like Ruben Patterson, without the sex offender baggage.

Paulino - He's just the 5th Beatle. He takes the shots because teams won't let the other guys in the starting 5 beat them. Looking forward to having DJ Augustin in our backcourt next year (and Durant in the frontcourt :))...

This team is just very mental lapse prone, which is why I don't think they'll go as far in the tourney as they probably should...

Gucci, IC, and bigtexxx all agreeing on something!!??

In all seriousness, I don't have a clue either. Aldridge is such a weapon inside that I really don't see why Barnes doesn't utilize him more. He's got a great post game and can hit the mid-range jumper (it's not there all the way but it's getting there). At 6'11", he's usually the biggest guy on the court. The guy should be getting 10-12 shots a game (not including putbacks), tonight he had 5!!

Inconsistent guard play has been our weakness all year long. The bigs will get it done but Gibson is having a very bad year IMO.

As Francis4Prez said, we are schizo's on the court. We can look like a Final 4 team one night and look like we don't even belong in the tourney the next. When we lose games, it's bad, I mean real bad- We don't make our shots, we turn the heck out of the ball, and worst of all, it just never seems like we have any heart in our losses.

Once again, congrats on a HUGE win.

Gibson is playing with a bad case of tendinitus in his knee and can barely walk without a limp. As for Aldridge, that's something you'd have to ask Barnes. I've wondered this myself all year. Texas will be lucky to make it past the second round of the tourney with the way they're playing as of late.

Congrats to the Ags. Good game, great win for your squad.

    Care to elaborate on that?

I already knew he was a liar.. seeing as how he backed out of the second part of a home and home with UH.. but I'd like to hear the UTEPers version..

He used to coach at UTEP so I'm sure the lying part has something to do with that.

It's been a long time since we could really get excited about Aggie Basketball. BCG is getting support from the administration in the form of new practice facilities and basketball offices that are being discussed. With the right recruiting, I'm hoping we'll get to the point where we look at a year when we're a bubble team as a bad year.

Did anybody else hear Dave South's call of the end of the game? They just replayed it on ESPN 790 on Palillo's show.

South: Got it! Got it! He got it!

South: Aaaaaaaaaaaw man alive he got it.

    Color guy: Goodnight!

    Color guy: Goodnight!

    South: They’ve mobbed the floor!

    Classic.

With the recruits coming in next year and if Jones and law both return (I imagine they will), A&M could be competing for the big 12 title next year. This would be remarkable. Last night was a monumental win for the program, it should lead to bigger and better things. I am definitely much more excited about the future of our Basketball team than the football team

Your guys played a good game yesterday and deserved to win. However, you guys also beat us last year in CS and predicted a Big XII title for this year. I'm not so sure about that. I agree that your basketball team has more promise than your football team.

It's quite possible that with the way the Big XII is now that A&M could surprise a lot of people next year. I just think you guys are maybe 2 more seasons away from competing for the Big XII title.

Nothing against your program, it just takes time. UT basketball didn't get to where it is over night. It's much easier to rebuild a basketball team than a football team which is why (if I were an Aggie) I'd be paying more attention to the basketball team than the football team.

You upset your team could never pull of such a feat? (yes, I am giving credit to UT for being a hell of a organization)

    UTEP blows.................

Not sure who predicted a title this year? But we did lose our best player (Antoine Wright). If he would have stayed, we would have been much better.
I did not say we would win the big 12 , maybe compete for it. We have two of the top players in the big 12 returning and with the new freshmen next year and other players developing we will create some havoc. Walker and pompey should never play in the big 12, next year they will not have to.
