Heh- and how does this work exactly? OU knows the secret password to the Conference USA-Big East-whatever clubhouse and is going to buy everybody lemonade until they let them in? I don't see much value add there. OU is helping them navigate the conference realignment section of craigslist/updating their e-harmony profiles?

no..the argument is, we had this deal with FOX where we were going to get somewhere between $13-15 million for the next 20 years...and if we lose that deal and go to a conference where we'll never see that money again because another conference interfered with that agreement, we'd like to reserve the right to sue for it.

obviously, if you weren't a baylor fan, you wouldn't care if someone was getting screwed out of $15 million, so you're the only biased person in the whole wide world!!!!!

Baylor is doing what's in their best interests, no different than UT or A&M. They will lose a lot of money if the Big 12 breaks up. Those other schools have ok fallback options.

Unless you are mad at everyone for being greedy then you can't only call out Baylor for it.

I can't get mad at the SEC for wanting this to be clean, I can be mad at Baylor for not being proactive and moving on.

Baylor and Dan Beebe might have more in common than many think

what's funny is, i'm not even making the argument...i'm stating what their argument is. i'd love to know which firms are involved with this, though.

yeah, baylor...just forget your $15 million for the next 20 years...move on to CUSA already.

convenient for A&M...but that ain't exactly kosher if you're asking the regents and decision makers of BU to actually do their job.

it's actually called a civil claim. and none of you would walk away from that kind of money if you were in their spot. not one of you.

If I were Baylor, I'd be worried that the longer this goes on, the more likely it is that UT/OU will find their dancing partners (as if they haven't already) and in the end, I'll be the one crapping on everyone else's big profitable plans. Thus making more enemies than I would ever want in most of the American South and Southwest, let alone the state of Texas.

OU has their own timetable, anyway. "3 days to 3 weeks." This isn't influencing that.

And again..as of yet (aside from the psychic Chris Level) none of the 9 schools have released claims that we're aware of.

    Uh, agree to disagree.

I think A&M's movement has a lot of influence on OU's future decisions.

Especially if Baylor starts throwing lawsuits around to defectors.

What happens to be big 12 after TAMU leaves has nothing to do with TAMU. It has everything to do with how weak the conference is.

All of a sudden this crappy school that everyone loves to say is so terrible is the one this all hinges upon?

The big 12 is weak and i suggest Baylor start looking for a place soft place to land.

If I was you wouldn't be mad at TAMU i would be mad at Baylor. (Just as I am not mad at UT) They (BU) were lucky enough to get into the big 12 and instead of taking that plus and building something they sat on their hands and cashed their checks now they don't have a pot to piss in.

    I guess haters gonna hate.

They are protecting themselves and trying to avoid losing millions in TV revenue. It's something that effects SOOO many student athletes. All of the Big East schools sued the 3 schools that left for the ACC a few years ago. Would you say the same about them? The ACC accepted them regardless. The SECs desire for a non lawsuit transfer when billions of dollars are at stake says something about how much they really want A+M. It wasn't even a unanimous decision. How many schools do you think only voted for A+M because of that stipulation.

Heard that Big 12 call was somewhat heated. Baylor isn't only school peeved at A&M. Question raised about objections coming at last minute.

    you keep saying this but:

    1. bu hasn't sued anyone; we're talking about releasing claims here.

    2. BU isn't the only group that, as of yet, hasn't released claims against the SEC.

Still very surprised to see SEC make the entire thing contingent on every school in the Big 12 releasing claims.

This is exactly what raider nation fears. We have a lot to gain and a lot to lose.

UofH is not in any package deal conversation. That is homerism and wishful thinking at it's best.

Sam- this all speculation. Read the tea leaves as you wish.
