i'm just telling you what i'm hearing...i was very clear to say my knowledge isn't direct. but i can guarantee you it comes from a source better than yours on the topic

beyond that, the 16 team, 4 super conference system seems inevitable....that's ultimately what the SEC is positioning for, too.

    You want the truth?

UT and A&M did not want UH in the original Big 12 because it creates a television scheduling conflict. Note that Houston is the largest Aggie and Longhorn market. Now that UT has the LHN I imagine their opinion about UH is changing but is still quite strongly opposes UH. Same for A&M but they ain't got no network.

    So...?

What would be worse is if what UT is really orchestrating is an evil genius plan to rally support among current Big 12 members to admit UH...just so they can crap all over A&M's parade. There are many Aggies and Longhorns here in Houston. UT fans do not have to worry about television conflicts, they got their own damn network. A&M can not say the same.

    The Equation

    A&M Market Value = A&M(TV($)) - UH(TV)
    UT Market Value = LHN($)

This states that A&M's market value is equal to what fans are willing to pay minus the effect of a tv blackout of A&M games due to a simultanously occuring UH game. However, UT's market value is equal to the LHN. So what is UT really planning?

To admit UH of course, because this would force the Aggies, not out of pride but out of economics, to leave the ESPN affiliated network for the CBS affiliated network. I am sure this gave LSU the warm and fuzzies. Note that Houston is a pretty big LSU market.

So why the heck would an out of state school give two ****s about UH? They don't. A&M and UT give the two ****s here in this matter.

^ You over simplify the story of the original Big 12's formation, but otherwise, you make some very good points. Adding UH would be a fairly effective way for the Big 12 to stick a needle in A&M's eye without purposefully looking like they're doing it.

Really awkward being an Aggie right now.

Would a UH game will black out a A&M game in the Houston area?

This is the least awkward it has ever been. We're trying to chart our own destiny right now, most people assumed we're tied to UT like a b****. We don't give a **** about UT. We are mother ****ing Texas A&M kiddo.

ya, down by 3 with 4 mins left w a true freshman at QB playing his first significant minutes all season, and it's "absurd" to think they could've won with the ncaa's winningest QB of all time under center for more than 3 plays?

    really??

    Reading comprehension ...

Never said they couldnt have won ... OP said they could have easily won over Bama ... That is a big leap from UT could have or even should have won.

That was the best game GG played in his career and you have no ideah how the Bama offense would have played going all out all game.

Never said UT wasnt going to win ... But there is no way it would have been "easy"

the guy who just spent several posts lambasting sammy for saying ut would have easily won when he merely said they could have easily won had they not swapped out a heisman finalist/all-time winningest qb in ncaa history for a freshman qb who had seen no significant time all year wants to call someone else out for their lack of reading comprehension? i love this board so much some times.

Look at the lowly Bobcat and the Baylor Bear fighting to revise history for your butt buddy in Texas ... hahahahahahaha

No, there is NOT any chance that Texas could or would have easily beaten Bama had Cart McCoy been in the game.

This whole debacle is a reason college football needs a playoff system.
