Given all the talk recently, I can't imagine Texas dictating who gets a big 12 invite. So much of the demands were less influence from Texas. However, I don't think anyone in the conference wants another Texas team. I can't imagine Missou, OK, and OSU who recruit Texas so much wanting another texas team to compete with. UH or TCU. In that regard, I don't understand where all the UT hate comes from. I can't imagine they ever fought the rest of the big 12 about TCU, SMU or UH. Donny made some great points against what I had said in a previous post and I have been meaning to respond but I only have time to write quick replies at work right now. We are in DVD crunch. Apologies. Biggest problem with UH: Contrary to what has been said, they do not have a stadium on the way. There is no construction. There is no set funding. They are still raising money and sports radio in austin said they got a sizable donation recently which is great but that is far from giving the contract away for construction. I don't think it's fair for the team to expect a conference to let them in when they don't yet have resources to make them valuable in such a big area. If they can match record attendance last year that is still only 30K fans which is near the bottom in conference USA. They also have not won any conference championships since their revival. Win Win Win and build the stadium. Make yourself valuable. Don't expect a conference to swoop in and do it for you. Best of luck from a native Houstonian but devout Longhorn. Also, official NCAA records still have Aggie attendance above 70K 2 years ago and 80K last year. They are consistently in the top 15. Not sure how valid these arguments are.
LOL, I don't even see how this is a serious response. The Astros are an embarrassment to Houston and there was no reason for it to be this bad.
