Certainly agree with this, but it does show that the sec probably got scared off from the original plan. Hopefully it is just that they want to make sure everyone knows that it was A&M that is causing this realignment and not them. Maybe scared away all together though Mike Slive really left Loftin and the A&M BOR hanging if that is the case. We'll see. We Aggies should be used to disappointment and embarassment by now. The fact that the A&M BOR is still going to vote leaves some hope. I have heard that Loftin would look elsewhere if the SEC falls through but who knows how far that would go.
I guess that would be the hope for Aggieland. If not they look like idiots and have to come crawling back to daddy.
This will be the most interesting piece to me. If the SEC invite is really gone, do they sit in the B12 or look for another option? It's an ugly position for A&M - the conference hates them; they hate the conference. Staying just adds to the instability of this thing. But I'm not sure where they go? They don't really fit anywhere else.
All very amusing, though more amusing than Texas A&M getting the "meh...maybe later" from the SEC, after cleaning and pressing their online overalls and their finest bolo ties, is the fact that I'm getting a John Deere tractor advertisement at the bottom of the page.
One thing is clear ... A&M is done in the Big XII ... They have gone too far so it is matter of time. That time could be 1 week or 2 years, but it is over Unlike last year, we went all in. They really effed it up last year by believing in Beebe bucks
SEC just seems like they want to pause on it for a bit, but that can't be good at all for A&M. Even with the BOR meeting monday, when TX committee meets day after you can be sure there gonna do everything they can to stop TAMU to SEC, which might even be enough to get SEC to completely hold off. TAMU is in a pretty bad position. Seems like no matter what happens though, they'll get out of the big 12, SEC or not.
Why would they not fit in B1G or Pac12? Not as good of a cultural fit as the SEC, but AAU status with an Athletic department that is worth a lot of money and has a large fan base in major markets. I think we will be able to find a landing spot if we can get away from the legal issues that the BigXII will try to force other conferences to avoid us
Big12 litigation seems to be some pretty serious ****, and seems like they can stop TAMU from going wherever..Which honestly, with an unbiased opinion, is pretty crazy/unfair. If they block TAMU to SEC then it's gonna be hard for another conference to pick up TAMU, n there best shot might be doing independent. It's not even about who will win/lose in court, just going through the litigation process in general is time consuming, bad media, and expensive, which seems like SEC wants to avoid (for now at least).
Should have squeezed his nuts a little harder, apparently. lol This could easily just be a cover-your-ass move by the SEC to try and avoid a lawsuit from the B-12. If not.... haha, holy ****.
Also..Loftin will be present at the committee meeting on Tuesday..interesting to see if the SEC commissioner will go.
How is it unfair from a legal perspective? The conference just signed a lucrative deal that may not hold up if A&M leaves.
