Can a college athlete have a reality show if he's not getting paid for it? Johnny should get one. Sumlin would love that. Recruiting-wise though, it'd be nuts. After football season he should totally do it. Follow his pre-NFL preparation and partying lifestyle. I'd watch, but more importantly potential recruits would be watching. Definitely an MTV series, not ESPN. Let's milk this SOB before he jets.

Manziel pleads guilty on charges of failing to identify himself

COLLEGE STATION – With the SEC Media Days set to start on Tuesday in Hoover, Ala., the Johnny Manziel news keeps rolling in. Manziel on Monday pled guilty to failing to identify himself to police after a June 2012 fight in the Northgate bar district, according to Brazos County attorney Rod Anderson.

Manziel will pay the maximum fine of $2,000, spend two days in jail and pay $232 in court costs. He won’t spend any actual jail time, however, since he had already been behind bars following his arrest. Also, a misdemeanor charge of fighting from the same incident had been dismissed in municipal court, and as part of the agreement misdemeanor a charge of possessing a fake license was dismissed.

The news comes after Manziel left the prestigious Manning Camp in Thibodaux, La., early after he missed practice sessions this past weekend, citing illness after he’d been spotted enjoying the nightlife during the camp. Manziel is scheduled to make a Wednesday morning appearance at the SEC media gathering.

I'm usually in the camp of 'leave the kid alone, he's just having some harmless fun', but his friends/family need to give him a wake up call. I've seen this before - lots of similarities to Rex Grossman at UF. Family with a lot of money, came out of nowhere to become a star at Florida, and REALLY liked to party. I can only take your word about Manzel being a moron, but I know for a fact that Rex was always a big time jackass/douche... people on the team called him 'snortasaurus-rex' behind his back bc he did so much blow.

I hope Manzel can get his **** together and reach his full potential because I enjoy watching greatness, but sometimes with silver spoon kids like him and Rex, the desire and hunger to get even better isn't there. Actually, if he doesn't get any better, I'm OK with that too, since A&M is an SEC school. GO GATORS!

On that note, MAN I can't wait for college football season!

Yeah, I only care about him for 1 more year. If he sucks after that so be it. I'd like to see him succeed but if he doesn't, meh.

I hope Johnny Kardashian doesn't ruin Sumlin's shot at coaching in the NFL.

Manziel says he overslept; didn't wake up in time. He made a mistake. He missed a meeting. It wasn't due to the night prior. His phone died, he overslept, and it was a mutual decision for him to leave (the camp). Was alcohol involved? "I'm not going into details."

No, it wasn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!

    Manziel:

Hope people still see I'm a 20 year old kid in college. I'm trying to enjoy life and hopefully that doesn't upset many people. I need to learn from my mistakes and not make the same ones twice.

The work we did last year, we all deserve to have a little fun (and we all did so in different ways).

You don't understand until you go through it. My situation was different. No one had 3 years of eligibility left. It's different.

Kingsbury one of my best friends. A big part of this last year and my life. Mixed emotions when he left. At the end of the day, it was his dream job.

(Missing camp) It had nothing to do with the night before. A really busy schedule for the month of June and July. Bit off more than I could chew. Mutual decision to leave. We had social events every night. Reports I was hungover are absolutely incorrect.

Twitter is what it is. Angered myself at times. It's not something that consumes my life.

Football is football. My teammates, coaches, and family know where my heart is at. I'm ready to stop talking after this, play football and let the play do the talking like last year.

My off-season will have no affect on me going into the season. Last year, still had fun and didn't affect me and people didn't care. People can say whatever they want. Plenty of things factor in a season. I guarantee you when August comes, I will be 115% ready to go.

I asked A&M for some help. Brought someone in, trying to work and solve the problems/stresses in my life.

Tebow is a guy I look up to.

People will be gunning for us and I'm okay with that.

Been different from last year to now. It's happened so fast. It has caused stress. It's continuing to learn, continuing to grow up.

I'm enjoying life and will continue to live life to the fullest.

I haven't done anything catastrophic. Of course I made mistakes. You have to continue to live life. You'll hit bumps. It's part of life.

(Talking to the media today vs if he enjoyed not talking last year) This is just another day. Nothing wrong with talking with all of you.

You don't get a Heisman by doing stuff off the field. At the end of the day, it should be about football.

I don't feel like I have to prove anything. There are goals I want to accomplish.

Florida & LSU both impressive defenses. LSU had a ton of guys in the draft. Same with Florida. 2 great defenses and coaching staffs.

No superstitions. Luck factors in like anywhere else.

Don't know my schedule for the fall.(Classes on or off campus)

These guys(teammates) know where my heart and head is at. We've been through a lot together. We've done so much. They know what's going on. What they think of me means the world to me.

(Taking online classes last year)A lot going on in my life. There was a lot of buzz going on then. A lot of stress, that made it easier on me in one aspect.

Cam Newton(who he would ask for advice). I've talked to him a couple times. I love watching him play. Being able to talk to him, Tebow another guy.

I'm a 20 year old college kid. I'm in a different spotlight. I won't change because of that. I'm going to adapt but not change. I'm gonna learn from all this. I'm not immature. Everything is fine.

I'm not Tebow. I'm different in many ways. Hopefully people accept me for me.

(Favorite off-season event?) Going to see Drake.

LeBron has been through way more scrutiny than me.

I've met a lot of influential people. Its been a blessing.

(LSU replacing Texas) It would be something cool. It's different not playing Texas. It is upsetting. I loved watching it as a kid. LSU would be a good team to play every year.

We didn't know what to expect going into the Florida game. Definitely didn't know where it would go going forward.

The Manning's - Me, Peyton, Eli and A.J., we were picking Peyton's brain. Just to see what he was thinking.

I will go back to the Manning camp. That's a huge part people didn't hold on to. If the rumors were true, there was no reason for them to bring me back. I'm disappointed in myself.

He & A.J. McCarron roomed together at the Manning camp. We're buddies. He's a great QB. He's a good dude. I enjoy being around him.

Have to pick your battles. Can't go and do everything.

    Nervous today? Not at all.

With the guys we have coming back and the great recruiting class, we have a chance to be one of the best teams in A&M history.

Without Sumlin, I don't know where I'd be today. Really blessed. I remember the day they announced him as HC. I was pumped. Getting to know him was 5000 times better.

ESPYs will be neat. Doesn't get any better.

Favorite class? Sports Management classes. I love sports. Those classes are intriguing to me.

I would love to play against JaDeveon Clowney. Hopefully we get to play them this year, that would mean we made it to the SEC-Championship game.

Change your lifestyle? Season is coming up so things change but sitting here (if this was) in February, I'll continue to live my life and be who I am. I won't change that. Season coming up, it's grind time.

Never wanted to transfer. It was maybe an option if things went differently. Had no school in mind.

Texas again? I would love to play them. It's been a great rivalry, great matchup.
