Actually.... Luper is a teammate of Foster's and according to one article has already been pushing hard for TAMU. Unless that "our" was supposed to be a "their". In which case carry on.
lol ... its actually supposed to be "one" instead of "none" ... Oops But yeah, Luper is who I was thinking of ... Hoping he really helps us out here
Sumlin has to be rubbing his hands together in glee over next year. But...big expectations too. Lots of pressure on him next year to get to a BCS bowl game.
Hoza Scott added to the 2014 class, and it doesn't sound like he'll be bailing on his verbal any time soon. Is Savage starting to make anyone else nervous? He keeps saying that it's down to A&M and UCLA, but there's no decision forthcoming. Scout.com thinks he'll make a decision this month, but others are saying as late as the Under Armor game in January. Since Mitchell's probably a Buckeye and, as much as I like him talking it up, I can't see Foster leaving his family (and little girl) behind to head to College Station, Savage might be the Aggies' last chance to get a big time impact LB (no offense to the guys who have signed) at a position that's going to be a bit thin next year.
KK is gone to coach at Texas Tech (good luck with that), and while the Ags will miss him, I am sure that Sumlin is going to have no trouble finding qualified candidates that want to take this offense over right now with the talent that is here/on the way. Biggest concern is if he takes some of our position coaches that are our best recruiters by giving them a promotion to the coordinator position.
Yeah I don't THINK McKinney would leave since he's already the recruiting coordinator, but Beaty might. Hopefully they don't bolt, that would suck if all the hard work that went into building this class goes down the drain.
Wow Tech really crapped the bed with the KK hire. Guy was lights out calling plays this year (even with a heisman winner playing at qb), but he's literally 3 years removed from being a grad assistant at a conference USA school. Holding a play sheet and calling the plays is completely different than managing a team, hiring a good staff, recruiting, and the other hefty responsibilities of a head coach. They rushed to it and succumbed to largely frustrated fan base following the Leach debacle and Tubbs getting the hell out of town. But I'm not worried. I have no doubt Sumlin will find an adequate replacement and hopefully we won't skip a beat.
Mike Mitchell cancelled his official visit with A&M. Guess he'll be committing in the next day or two to THE OSU. Also, Kerrick Huggins decommited and almost immediately committed to OU. Since from what I've heard he wasn't going to qualify, this is probably a mutual parting of the ways. Going to be interesting to see how Stoops gets him in without bending a few rules, seeing as how he was desperate for a DT after he lost Manning. For good news, the Aggies got another 2014 commitment in Jamal Jeffery, a wideout from Lufkin. Not very big (I've seen his height as anywhere between 5'8" and 5'11") but from what I've seen on highlight videos, he's their deep threat they go to on bombs, reverses, and end arounds. Good body control, slippery. Looks like a good slot wideout for the Aggies. Still waiting to hear any news on the Big 3. It'll probably be a while I know, but I'm nervous. Hoping they can get 2 of them.
Yeah it would but I just don't see Foster going all the way to CS when he's got a child to take care of and no family in the area. Savage is making me nervous, but everything I've read still has A&M as the favorite. The 2014 class is already shaping up to be an excellent LB class for the Aggies though, with Scott and Walker already in the fold. As for Alexander, no one knows what's going on with him. According to him, he's not even telling his mother what he's thinking. I'll give the odds as less than 50/50 (say, maybe 30%) since there's so many schools still in the running. In other news, I can't believe that Luke Del Rio is turning down a scholly to Oregon St. to walk-on at Alabama. It's not like he's a joke either. Solid high 3-star QB.
Lost out on LaDarius Smith (he decided to follow his Juco DL coach to Kentucky. Good luck with that). Nine guys signed today before the Juco/early enrollment deadline and will count against the 2012 signing class (which only had 19, and 3 of them were early enrollees and therefore counted towards 2011): JaQuay Williams Cameron Clear Jeremiah Stuckey Jordan Points Kenny Flowers Tommy Sanders Brett Wade Reggie Chevis Alex Sezer That leaves them at 25 for this signing period, the max allowed. Kohl Stewart may still go with pro baseball, and last I heard Victor Davis and Derrick Griffin may still be grade risks (although rumor has it Davis is improving his grades). So there may be as many as 3 spots open if all 3 go. Isaac Savaiinaea is planning to announce his decision between A&M and UCLA at the Under Armor game on January 4th (just before the Cotton Bowl. Hmm...). Mackenzie Alexander is still playing poker against himself, and no one knows what he's doing. Still on the "interested" lists of a bunch of other kids (Reuben Foster), but nothing new. Did I miss anything?
Oh, and by the way, I'm going to report Texas A&M to the SEC and the NCAA. He didn't buy those Tickets. Return your Heisman.
What's up with this? I like this guy too. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/20/am-receiver-who-disappeared-leaving-school/
