Yeah. He has to come a long way if he's gonna win in the SEC. Kinda reminds me of Martinez at Nebraska. Apparently we're getting the ball in Trey Williams hands more often.
Good. You guys have to utilize the best running back to ever come out of the state of Texas more often.
Manziel's playing like his hair's on fire. Reminds me of a modern day Bucky with more passing ability.
Nice "running back"; at QB leaves something to be desired. And as a type, a running TD. Guy can run all day. Probably not so much against the elite. I'd still take him over Garrett Gilbert though. SMU has no one better than him?
400 total yards and 5 TDs. I think he's doing fine. Be interesting to see him vs. Kohl Stewart in a couple of years. His decision making can be suspect at times, but he's a freshman, that will come in time. Besides, running QBs can work fine in college. See Young, Vince and Tebow, Timothy.
He's doing alright. More passing, less running. Haha, nah I hope he just keeps improving week to week. Sumlin did mention right before the half he'd like to see him stay in the pocket longer.
I slept through the first three quarters. Does he go through his progressions at all, or is it if his first option isn't open he's taking off?
I'm no expert but seems as if if the first or second option isn't there, he's getting out of the pocket and looking to run.
Yep especially on the ol and dl. Thats what makes the sec so great, the ol and dl. Tamu need to get the sam adams types again. They cant let the micheal brockers type leave houston. They cant let the top ol and dl leave the area at all. If they can keep the top ol and dl talent, they will be fine.
Yeah we need meat across the board. Things are shaping up though, it looks like Sumlin might be a recruiter. We'll have to see. People always make fun of Aggie fans for thinking beating Texas was all that mattered. That was never the case. But if we can knockoff LSU or Bama this year - that'll be special. About all I could ask for this year. Aside from that I'm patiently waiting on Sumlin to bring in some meat.
Its really no different than nfl tbh. When tamu was really good in the 80's and 90's, they dominated houston and dallas in recruting and it was the frontline players, not skilled players. The wrecking crew was dominant because of the 3-4 big guys and the speed at lb's. They could run the ball because they had a crazy depth there. Guy i went grew up with moved to dallas rt before high school. He led dallas area in rushing like his last 2 yrs and signed with tamu. When he got there in 90, hill and thomas were there already. The next year, mcelroy came and they told him if he wanted to play, he had to switch positions. He switched to cb. Thats the kind of depth they had. Somewhere along there, when davie left, they stopped getting the same athletes on defense and the team spiralled downhill.
Lol. Going to be an interesting week in aggy land. It's amazing how the aggys just continue to outdo themselves.
It's 2012 in College Station, just like it is everywhere else. The people who would make a big deal about that in College Station are the same people who would make a big deal about it anywhere else. Even T-sips have to admit that Johnny Manziel has been impressive so far in just his 3rd start.
I'm not impressed. South Carolina State. Nuff said. let's see him do it vs. LSU before we get excited
