I would say that's all true. But, I've heard some UT fans complain that Strong is too strict. But I like strong, and am glad that he's cleaning things up in Austin. But this thread isn't about UT. Murray was benched for the Mississippi game, so he was disciplined. He's a young kid that is very confident and wants to contribute. Hopefully he's learned his lesson. Not like he raped anyone or anything. Sumlin certainly isn't Saban. And neither is Strong. You guys should post in the UT thread more often. It's very quiet in there. I guess no one cares to talk Longhorn football lately.
Fenves, the new President at UT and the "interim" AD (good chance he sticks around at least in some major capacity) are both on record saying that the UT/ATM game should be played again sometime in the quasi-near future. Has Sharp or anybody said anything recently?
I'm not an Aggie, but I don't think the Aggies should be in a hurry to play the Longhorns. The Aggies don't need to play Texas. They're schedule is hard enough as it is. Also, the Aggies were always in the shadow of UT when they were in the SWC and Big 12. The Aggies now have a chance to build their own identity as the lone Texas school in the SEC. I don't know what A&M has to gain from playing UT at this time. Of course, the two schools have a long history of playing each other. But, it didn't bother UT to kick some of those old SWC teams to the curb after playing them for many decades.
It's so difficult that A&M didn't even have a road game until last week. That's eight whole weeks into the season.
You know what I mean. The SEC teams always play a strong schedule. Also, almost all the big schools play a lot of home games.
And Texas doesn't *need* to play the Aggies. It's about the fans, and the State, and normal ol' pride and appl...errr...pecan pie and eagles and football and god and ****.
Hey, I grew up with SWC football, and I miss it. But if the Horns wanted to do what's best for the fans, they never should have blown up the SWC. This week the Horns play Iowa State. Enjoy!
Easy now, the Aggies were right along on that ride, and it was necessary and inevitable. The cluster**** of the breakup of the BigXII, however, can be largely blamed on DeLoss and the Horns.
