Classic!! Although I think he didn't really get a fair shake in the NFL, back then, I thought he was destined for greatness. I've also seen a little of Strait and have come away impressed. I think you could get him a lot lower than 10 and if Casserly wants him, I'm sure he will trade down.
I got a little Texas bias, but... Sean Taylor Shawn Andrews Robert Gallery Roy Williams Kellen Winslow
Just a question: If Vince Wilfork, Taylor, Will Smith, and Robert Gallery are still on the board, who would you take? All are supposed to go 5-8 from what I've seen, so I guess it's wishful thinking but...
I'd take them in this order. Taylor, Gallery, Wilfork and I'd probably passon Will Smith because I don't think he'd fit in the Texan's system.
My prefrence would be Gallery, Taylor, or tradedown. I doubt Gallery is there at 10, however I could see Taylor being there. But I expect to see a trade down. DT is the greatest need on the team and you can get a quality one in the 15-20 range. Pick up and extra first day pick and still get someone like Starks out of Maryland. I'm not too big on Harris or Wilfolk but if the Texans are they will use #10 on those players as well.
Personally, I'd like to see us trade down for an extra pick. We have too many needs to take a safety at #10. But if we do take Taylor (if he's still there), I wouldn't be too upset. I like our chances in the later rounds. See DDavis.
I'd like Wilfork, Andrews, or Gallery. I'm not a Taylor fan at all. The games I saw him play, he seemed overrated. Only a Roy Williams-like safety is worthy of a high first round pick, and I just don't see it in Taylor. But hey, I could be wrong right? I blasted Indy when they took Manning over Leaf years ago. So what the hell do I know?
Jury is still out on that one. I had a bet with a friend of mine as to who would have the better career. I won't pay up until both he and Manning are retired. I'm holding out for a comeback
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who missed badly on Leaf. There seem to be a lot of folks out there who love revisionist history, however.
