I hate to say it, and I don't know how I can actually type this, but...I think Owen Daniels is expendable after this season.

Thats exactly what I said to a friend while we were watching the game.

We dont need the guy, as weird as that sounds. We just have so much talent around that position. No need to spend more than we need to for a marginal upgrade. Spend that money on Pollard or another position of need.

How will Dorin Dickerson's performance make Owen Daniels expendable? It's already known he'll play as WR, so if anything guys like Andre Davis should be thinking about job security.

I know Dickerson will play at WR. Something that caught my eye last night, too was the fact that Dickerson was wearing 19, so he presumably, couldn't play tight end.

I think the play of Dreesen, and the play of Casey, coupled with Dickerson now will make Daniels expendable.

Edit: Not to mention Garrett Graham, who some say has surprised. He showed a little bit last night, too. And Anthony Hill. Tight end is arguably our deepest position.

Everything will hinge on Owen's recovery, but I wouldn't be surprised if Owen comes back in pre-injury Pro Bowl form by the end of the season.

TE is indeed arguably our deepest position, but I'm not counting out Owen just yet. QBs have their favorites, and Schaub loves him some OD.

Oh, I'm not counting him out at all. I'm a huge Owen fan. I think he is the most underrated tight end in the league, by a long shot. I would love to see him stay a Texan, but I'm just saying, if for some reason he doesn't, we won't lose too terribly much as far as our offense goes.

I was at the game in Buffalo when he got hurt. I was sitting up against the tunnel, about 12 rows up. As he walked off the field, I yelled, "OWEN! WE NEED YOU! WE NEED YOU TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!" He just kind of looked up, gave a slight smirk, and kept walking.

I was just reading some posts on BRB, and the people there seemed like they were impressed with Booty. Anyone know why? I didn't see anything that impressed me.

    James Casey looked great.

OD is expendable unless he shows top 5 TE form again.

Just wanted to chime in on Holliday -- he looked good to me on that first return with the 1st string special teams unit. The rest of the game it was a patchwork ST unit blocking for him and it showed.

He did make mistakes letting the ball hit the ground on a couple of occasions, but I think it's too early to declare him a waste.

And I forgot to say this:

As a disclaimer, I have a history of bad quarterback evalutaion, but John Skelton is looking like a steal of a pick for Arizona. That guy has all the tools.

I agree, but I also would not be opposed to letting Jacoby still return punts and letting Holliday just focus on the kick returns

Damn Slaton, he was looking like the old Slaton, making 6 out of 3 by shooting through a tiny crack, then... fumbleitis.... on the freaking goal line.

I agree, OD will be expendable for the amount of money he commands.

Nolan looks great, I hope he plays his way into starting.

Holliday looked like he's not worth a roster spot.

Dickerson reminds me of Hines Ward.

Barwin did make one all-world spin move.

We need Cushing because he's a bad ass but the collection of LB's (and we were missing two good ones) looked sharp (Sharp-ton).

Dickerson has some hands on him...I think he should get more reps. The pick is looking pretty good so far.

Between Andre, Walter, Jacoby, David Anderson, and Dickerson; and then Owen Daniels, James Casey, Garrett Graham; and then Arian Foster, Slaton, Tate, Johnson, and Henry; and Schaub at quarterback, I'd say we're a pretty loaded offense. Kind of under-the-radar loaded

Have to agree with my fellow posters, Nolan, Casey, and Dickerson looked great. Bennet is gone and that Super Mario bullrush was a thing of beauty.

It looks awesome. I really don't think you will be able to get Dickerson through waivers and stash on the practice squad. Some rebuilding team with the need of wide receivers will see his huge upside and scoop him up. As a result, I think he makes the team. Texans may carry 6 receievers like they did last year which is one more than most teams. AJ, Jacoby, Walter, and DA are locks. Holliday struggled yesterday so I want to see how he rebounds. I am not a fan of Andre Davis.

Forgot about this...the guy was abused. He reminded me of Dunta. Yeah, he wont be around much longer.

But, the positives of last night outweighed the negatives. Pretty excited for next weekend.

So I see the Ravens might trade Willis McGahee because they are so deseparate for cornerback help. Do you think they would do a Jacque Reeves for McGahee trade?

Wow, that would be great if we could pull something like that. I need to look more into this situation, didnt see that one coming.
