Texans win both. Beat Titans by 2 TD's. Vince exposed as still having a lot to learn on the NFL level as Titans win 5 games.

What does a 51% completion rate and more interceptions that TD passes get you? A royal shrine from Smokey.

Vince is a bad NFL quarterback. He'll never have the pass separation in the NFL like he did with Texas and he doesn't have the accuracy to compensate for it. In fact, The titans won 2 games last year IN SPITE of Vince's performance.

The man had 7 rushing touchdowns but he is only a hit away from a season ending injury. He may be bigger than Vick but no QB can withstand the kind of punishment NFL LBs can commit. Look how good Culpepper was until that all the beatings he took started to break down his body.

My first year at UT was Vince's first as a starter and I'll always see him as an untouchable icon but I'm a Texan fan and he's now a Titan. It is what it is and despite my love for the guy, he's not a great QB and I don't wish he was on my team.

Interesting that you mention that. Most of the UT fans I've talked to who have followed Vince rave about the leaps and bounds that he made as a quarterback each season at UT, and feel that he will have the same year-to-year growth that he did in college. I tend to agree, because the guy has a serious work ethic and will to win. Now does he need to grow? Certainly. I could also see the Texans beating the snot out of the Titans due to a depleted defense this year. But saying Vince Young is a bad NFL QB now is premature. If that's the worst you see from VY, then that's a telling sign of potential.

I'm thinking of two words; one of them is 4 letters long. Use your imagination.

Just because I attempt to be real about someone from my school, I'm not longer a part of it? If I'm not saying only good things about the longhorns, The aggies win? Do you work in the current Administration Tinman? Are you Bush's speech writer?

I'm still a longhorn, vince is not. I love the guy but that does not mean I have to convince myself he is a better pro QB than is really is. College? He was amazing but I don't think he will be as good it in the NFL. He got a lot better year after year at UT but his skill set was always much better suited for the college game.

Well....Dark_Tower is right. It's too early to make conclusions. I do think people are already saying that he is great though. I'm just responding to that.

By saying VY is bad NFL quarterback and that he'll never have the pass seperation or accuracy? Sounds like you've made some early bold conclusions yourself.

BTW, you know that EVERY single player in the NFL is 1 hit away from a season ending injury right? Hell...McNabb didn't even get touched and ended up tearing his ACL. Pennington was probably the most injury prone QB in the league and he is the definition of a pocket passer.

Pass separation has nothing to do with Vince. College receivers (especially on National Championship teams) have way more separation between themselves and the Dbacks than most NFL receivers do. Therefor Vince has to be significantly more accurate to be an effective passer in the NFL.

I did not say that he would never have good accuracy.
So as of right now, he is not accurate enough. I never said he would can't get better.

that is awful logic. That's like when Big Ben was defending his stance against motorcycle helmets and said that people can get hurt in cars and wars as well as motorcycle crashes.

Yea, injuries can happen but a QB puts himself in a more likely position to get hurt when he is running past the line of scrimmage so much. Most QB sacks involve the QB being pulled down or hit while he is stationary. Once the QB starts moving there are more opportunities for a major joint to get turned and since they have a fast forward motion, the strait on hits are harder than they would be if he was still.

You weren't there for the Major Applewhite Chris Simms fiasco so you don't appreciate VY.

Then you should have said he doesn't have the pass accuracy to compensate for it yet. You made it sound like that he'll never have the pass seperation and won't have the accuracy to make up for it.

I'm just saying that you agreed that its too early to make conclusions, but you had just made some pretty bold conclusions the post before.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I've never liked that argument in general. People have been saying all along that VY "is one hit from a big injury" like it can't be said for any other player. It maybe awful logic, but its true. Charles Spencer broke his leg and ended his season on 1 snap in the 2nd game of the season.

I understand what you're saying but I'm just not a fan of that argument.

I'm assuming you were? That means you weren't there for the VY era so no matter how much you love the guy, you can never fully appreciate when he meant for this school. You weren't on campus feeling the electricity he created week after week. You didn't skip class to wait in line for wristbands hoping you'll get tickets to the game. You weren't at the OU rally on South Mall. You weren't celebrating the national championship on Guad and one of the first people to get National Championship shirts. I have one of the ones that are printed before the game. One of the ones that would have been destroyed if Texas lost.

Vince gave me an experience that most people never get in their college career: A National Championship. No matter how many posts you make about the guy, you will never know what that feeling is like so don't tell me I don't appreciate vince.

You guys are freaking Nazis. Vince young is not Jesus Christ. He has faults BUT he was a damn good college QB.

Please. You can't appreciate the good times when you've never experienced the bad times. I experienced the national championship as an alumnus. No I wasn't a student during the VY era, but I was a student during the Major Applewhite/Chrissy Vag era. The worst night being a UT fan was the 01 Big 12 title game. If you were a student then you would kiss VY's feet. Fine you appreciate VY. I appreciate him more cause of **** like "it was the wind." Excuses after excuses.

He can't experience the bad times if he wasn't a student then? Hilarious.

Uh,, yeah sure. Go to the coop and they'll have brando2101 jerseys and posters. VY is not only a longhorn for life. he'll be THE LONGHORN.

but if you choose to diss your school's 1oo year old heritage for a expansion team, then do so.. BENEDICT_ARNOLD2101.

Dissing VY and going to UT s like Rocket fans dissing Hakeem.
dude, even YOFs don't diss Hakeem!

Man did you fail the analogy portion of the SAT? For your example to work, Hakem would have had to a more competitive league after his NBA career was over. THE BETTER example would be Bulls fans criticizing MJ the baseball player. He was a Bull Icon. Does that mean bulls fans can't criticize how he is performing in his career after being a Bull? Likewise, I have nothing but good things to say about Vince the Longhorn but Vince the Titan is a different story.

Also, Hakeem did not have anything to prove after he was done being a rocket. HE WAS A HALL OF FAMER! Vince young is not. I NEVER SAID he was a bad college QB or that he was overrated. He was one of the best ever college QBs but YOU ARE AN IDIOT if you think that makes him immune to criticism on the pro level.

So, HOW CAN I BE DISSING MY SCHOOL'S HERITAGE WHEN I'M ONLY TALKING ABOUT HOW VINCE IS DOING IN THE NFL????

you are ever the clever devil

If Vince Young rolled up to Gregory Gym, they'd let his ass in without his UT ID.
on top of that, if ANY pickup team had a choice between YOU and Vince, they'd choose VINCE -EVERY FRICKING TIME.

If you and Vince rolled up to Kensolving lunch room. All of the girls would let VINCE sit next to them and he'd get the food for free!
they'd tell your ass to go to Jester and get out of their lunch room!

    Vince Rules! Forever!
