Is Mills likely to end up a franchise QB? No. But my god, so many of y’all are acting like a week 2 postseason performance without half his starting OL, starting (very good WR) and starting RB is reason enough to write him off. If he looks this bad through the first few weeks of the regular season, then the criticism is more than justified. But I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt in a meaningless preseason game where he has essentially none of his supporting cast around him.
Both of those last two deep balls were pretty good. Some of the shorter passes before that, not so much
I think the reality is that Mills will have to prove it. The team isn't good enough to carry a mediocre QB so either he balls out and our draft pick is mid to late first or he sucks and we draft his replacement.
The offense looks pretty bad. Decent finish to the half, otherwise pretty abysmal against the Rams backups. Not super impressed so far.
Drafting his replacement seems super likely at this point yeah... But, he does have a chance to prove himself and buy himself more time. It's really all on him.
