I'm a huge Texans fan, but... first game jitters + good Cowboys defense + lack of experience as a unit (and especially at QB) + Dallas' desire to NOT be the one to give an expansion team their first win ever = Cowboys win. Nothing to be ashamed about. I want to beat the Cowboys, but, realistically, I just don't think we will. Maybe towards the end of the season, we'll finally gel as a team and destroy our opponents (like the Titans). I just don't see that happening the first game, though, even with the good team we have. It took Cleveland 8 weeks to get their first (expansion) win (against the Saints). It took Carolina 7 weeks to get their first win (against the Jets). It took Jacksonville 5 weeks to get their first win (against... the Oilers). Maybe we can buck the trend, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Hey, that's the future all-time leading rusher your are talking about! In a way, I'd almost wish he'd get it, and retire. We have a good backup by the name of Troy Hambrick. He had a 5.something yards per carry last year. As for Roy Williams, everything I have seen had been good. He seems to hang out with Darren Woodson, who IMO is probably what Roy may end up like: a hard-hitting pro-bowl safety. Well, anyway back to the Texans...uh... they're pretty good....for an expansion team...and....uh...there pretty good. Nice stadium too. Probably good cheerleaders too.
If I played until I was 109 years old I could break the record too. Oddsmakers in Vegas have gone on the record as saying that they are having a good time hadicapping the Texans because they are not built like an expansion team. Go to the Texans website and look at the roster. Not fantastic...but way better than the average expansion team.
Emmit's only 33. Pretty old for football, but isn't that Raider's QB signed until he's 40 something? I also was joking. I failed to put the . Wait, you have a ...hmm. I was also joking about the expansion part. You are WAY better than the last expansion team. And like I said, your team has a lot of good players, despite being an expansion team. With good coaching and a good effort, possibly some luck from injuries,(which you haven't had, as far as I can tell.) I don't see why you can't make the playoffs. Didn't the Jaguars make it as an E. team? You have their coach too. I would think they would be one of the better e.teams. The only thing I could see making them have a bad record, like 1-15 or something, is if your management doesn't want to compete just yet, and would rather get some more franchise players through the draft. But I doubt they would want to lose. Btw, did you see my comments on the stadium and cheerleaders? Pretty nice, if you ask me. Even if it is an expansion team.
We have injuries to Tony Boselli and Ryan Young. That's both of our starting tackles...not good. They won't make the playoffs...but they'll be damned competitive. The cheerleaders are gorgeous...go to the texans webpage and check out the cheerleader section.
Yeah, I agree. Once I heard those two were hurt, I went,"Dang!" and the Texans aren't even my fav. I was expecting a lines were whoever you had at HB, he's get 5000 yards rushing! Ok, now I'm a dumb homer for two NFL teams. Oh well. WHAT!? They have a cheerleader section? Excuse me for...half the day...maybe more.
I hope the Texans win also. I really want to see the offense gel and to see who are going to be the upcoming stars. I hate the Dallas Cowboys w/ a passion, but I hope they put up a good fight against the Texans and fall flat on their face!
You don't have to name me every NFL bust through the years, like Tony Mandarich, Andre Wadsworth, etc. Roy has a 6th sense that I've never seen in any other player. Once he gets used to the nuances of playing safety (he was more of an OLB at OU) he will be a great one. I succesfully predicted that Adam Archuleta of the Rams would become a bad ass, and so far he looks great.
Cowboys win, unless the team plane goes down. Im willing to put money on it. If any Texan fans want to put down a bet, I am accepting them right now. Time to put up or shut up.
One of my hopes for the Texans is that we beat dallas. It is imperative, what with the rivalry of the cities and all. GO TEXANS!!!
Ok, all though this attempt at a putdown made no sense, I will still acknowlege your thought. Lets see whos talking after the game is over ..........
Err... you want to bet money that an expansion team playing it's first ever game will beat the Cowboys? Wow, way to go out on a limb and throw down that challenge.
Hey, that looks pretty cool. Almost exact colors of them, too. I know you just messed with the colors and size and stuff, but it still is pretty cool. Too bad the Cowboys are first in my book, with the Texans second.
errr why are you rolling your eyes? Yes, I am willing to do this because people actually think the Texans have a shot. And I dont pity, I go after their money.
