Texans never had a chance. Between the clock operator and the official with the bizarre holding penalty, the officials were determined to get their Cowboys a precious victory. It's hard to develop hatred in a meaningless preseason game, but my dislike for the Cowboys certainly went up a few notches with that bull****.
Sorry Raven, i got off clutchfans to do other stuff while watching. It is the code, either all lowercase or all uppercase. Not sure why i copied it in as uppercase. From people posting on the site, it seems to the passcode for all the channels.
Great news on Williams, he has movement in all 4 extremities IRVING, Texas -- Houston Texans receiver Harry Williams was taken off the field on a stretcher Friday night after being hit in the head during a collision with a teammate. He was trying to make a tackle on a kickoff return by the Dallas Cowboys. According to a meber of the medical team treating Williams, he has movement in all four extremities but has not regained full strength, ESPN's Ed Werder reported. Williams is still undergoing tests at a Dallas-area hospital to determine the severity of his injuries. Williams was face down on the field when the play ended. Medical personnel immediately called for a stretcher and the game was delayed for about 10 minutes while they tended to Williams. Williams' face mask was removed and his head was immobilized when he was strapped to the stretcher and taken to an ambulance. WHEW !!! DD
Yeah man, I think the Texans shoulda watched 1 or 2 Cowboys games last season. There's a reason the Cowboys let him go and if he was still on the Cowboys squad, I doubt he'd be higher than seventh on the depth chart.
Reeves singlehandedly lost it for Dallas in the playoff loss to the Giants. He gave New York all the momentum and was consistantly getting picked on all game.
Our pass rush was horrible, getting our secondary exposed. Our DL looked like little boys compared to the Dallas OL. Our OL did a good job, but didn't give enough time to the QBs. Slaton looked really good and Chris Taylor came on near the end. I like that combination (Slaton running 1st and 2nd downs, while Chris Taylor comes in on 3rds). Overall, I would give the team a C+ performance.
Wow dude. You sounds like a Redskins fan on a Cowboys forum. Finding any reason to blame the loss on the officials. Its flippin preseason. The records dont start counting for a couple weeks. I thought the Texans looked good. I really hated seeing Jones drop that 2 point conversion. I wanted to see the 2 min offense from the 2/3 teamers from the Cowboys. Schaub looked a little lost on a couple drives but after the INT in the endzone he seemed to fall into rhythm. Glad Williams has regained use of his body. I hope this isn't a career ending injury and we'll see him at full strength asap.
Aside from the fact we couldn't stop the Cowboys at all in the first half when the starters were in, they looked fine.
A couple thoughts: Where the hell is the pass rush? I know its the preseason and (hopefully) Kubiak doesn't want to show our blitz packages but we're not getting anywhere near the QB. The secondary has played decent the first couple games but they got absolutely exposed tonight. The tackling was especially horrible, Reeves missed a tackle on a 6-7 TE (Martellus) who was basically standing still when he caught the ball. That type of crap is unexcusable and I finally saw why Cowboy fans rejoiced when they let him go. The O-Line played pretty good IMO. There were a couple of lapses but the Dallas D-Line maybe one of the best in the NFL and I think our guys held our own for the most part. I love what Slaton has done in limited carries this preseason. We all know he is the fastest back on the team but he has shown so much more than just that. He's been a patient runner and waiting for the blocks to develop and he's been running very strong as well. Slaton is definitely making a case for him to be the starter come week 1.
I went to the game. Texans' first team was manhandled by the Dallas' offense and defense. No pass rush. "Hotel" Adams kept Mario in check all game long. Schaub was terrible against Dallas' first team.
That must have been why it was a 20-16 game when the first teams for each squad went out, huh? What a manhandling!
266 yards against the Texans' first team defense in the first half is a pretty good definition of manhandling.
Stats for the starters far in Dallas' favor, BUT Dallas was -3 in turnovers, thus a close score. Anyone know where you can look up numbers that tell you how rare it is for a team -3 in turnover ratio to win?
