If they did, maybe they would follow around the guys that place the tarps in the upperdeck, lol. A day in the life of a tarp layer.
I would have liked to watch it. Bountygate is probably the reason why. It's not like the team's who have been on it have done poorly. 4/6 had winning records with three of those four making the playoffs.
i think it would be the same ole story with the jets/cowboys. I wish they would do a team that nobody would think of....like the jaguars. hahaha nvm.
the saints would be awesome this offseason, but would never happen. my wild prediction based on nothing: the raiders.
Great vid, had no idea Spenceer Tillman was so articulate... wish he'd throw some of that articulacy into the calling of games or review of team with Bob.
Lots a reading time riding early '90s pine. Tillman might be the most mediocre unrelated black athlete surname in history.
You realize he does national analysis on CBS during college football season, right? And I find him to be very articulate during Inside the Huddle with Bob Allen.
I was referencing his work as the Texans color commentator, but yes I do to answer your question. I wish he would do it more during the play by play while the Texans games are called. But back to topic, has anyone that has been on Hard Knocks actually won a SB AFTER their appearance?... Well if the answer is NO then who the f**k cares if it doesn't help win a chamionship??? I sure don't.
I could argue that the Texans have never won the Super Bowl even though theyve never appeared on Hard Knocks...so chances are, if we arent on Hard Knocks this year, it'll just be another year where we wont win the Super Bowl.
And still you're argument would have started after what... half a season of Super Bowl aspirations??? This will be the first full season anyone has ever even spoken of the Texans being top 10 of possible SB contenders. So again, if it doesn't help their chances why bash the head coach for how a lame-ass he is, or worry about parading our players to finally get national media attention. I'd rather have the end of the playoffs attention than a spot on the HBO line-up.
My random prediction is Tampa Bay. A bunch of new high profile free agents, a young quarterback looking for a bounce back year plus a lot of other young talent, and the headcase bad boy Talib.
What does Super Bowl aspirations have to do with anything? You dont need to be a top 10 team to be on Hard Knocks. The 5-11 Dallas Cowboys appeared on Hard Knocks the following season. The 4-11 Bengals in 2008 appeared on Hard Knocks the following season. The 9-7 Chiefs appeared on Hard Knocks the following season. The 9-7 Jets appeared on Hard Knocks the following season. Out of the 6 Hard Knocks seasons, 4 of them included teams that were average or below average. If anything, the following season for these teams was better after they appeared on Hard Knocks. I think it silly to say that Hard Knocks teams dont win the Super Bowl the following year when most of them didnt make the playoffs the year before.
I think you're misunderstanding my point, which is, if it doesn't help the Texans win a ship this year why get all worked up about them rejecting it? I'd rather have the spotlight of the Super Bowl cameras over HBO's. Not saying that you HAVE to be a winning team too be on the show and whoever ends up there, good for them. As far as this year goes I could give three sh!ts if the Texans get "national media/tv exposure" as long as we get to the big show and get er done!
Yeah I see...but my point is that being in the spotlight and being in the Super Bowl arent mutually exclusive events. My stance is that cameras are part of an NFL players experience regardless...from training camps, interviews, game tape, locker room cameras, etc... Its not like the players are all of a sudden surrounded by things called camera crews. So, if they can really be distracted that much where they go from Super Bowl contender to a non playoff team...then really, they arent deserving in the first place. Like Ive said, people point to how poorly teams do when they are on Hard Knocks...but I would say they actually perform as good or better than expected, based on the teams they have picked. The Texans will go as far as their talent and coaching will take them...whether they are on Hard Knocks or not, is irrelevant to how well they will perform. In that case, I'd rather get the exposure than not get the exposure.
