Interesting. I wonder what the conversations were around this topic? Was that something that they ever truly considered giving to the DC? Was there some aspect of the defensive playcalling that they hoped the DC would get down before making the decision and they didn't quite feel confident he would? Was it more of a comfort thing for him? I'm sure we'll never get straight answers to these questions but I'm curious.
" Is that he doesn’t make the same mistake twice" One of the better compliments you can get from a coach. This is almost word for word how Tea Pot described Watson THE QB, taking him aside and showing him Aaron Rodgers film.
Any word on how the WR are looking or where the depth chart might shake out? Lots of young potential + Woods so just interested in if anyone is standing out this far.
I don't recall that. All I remember is 610 reporting he was throwing interception after interception. Let's go back shall we,
Every single year it's the same. Houston media are scared of anything but fluff when it comes to the Texans, so you will only hear regurgitated media takes and responses from team representatives. Only in the middle of the season do you hear real takes, and only from outside Houston via national media.
Really? I disagree. It is expected for rookies to have bad days, part of the taking your licks as a rookie season. The majority of the Mills coverage was either neutral or generally positive. On top of that, somehow, in the midst of sexual allegations and a trade request, Watson is made to look as a benevolent mentor who is telling the rookie to hold his head up high. Yeah, reeeal tough media coverage.
I basically read and listened to every day of training camp that year because I find it interesting and they started out positive with Mills but as training camp wore on, he never got away from just checking down and the sentiment definitely skewed largely more negative.
