If we’re paying his bonus we better get decent picks

Multiple picks for Roby? Maybe a 5th and a 6th.

I’d be pretty disappointed if Roby gets the same return as Crossen and Reid

There are trades like Tunsil or Ramsey where the player is highly coveted but the return for average players always seems disappointing.

I said a 4th and 6th yesterday, but with this news perhaps we get a 3rd and 6th. I'd be fine with that given Roby's injury/suspension history. If we get more than that, then Cas is working some magic.

I wouldn’t consider Roby an average player personally.
If Reid and Crossen can get you 6 rounders, Roby is at minimum a 3

Cooks caught over 1,100 receiving yards last season. They need to trade him now while his trade value is high. He’s not going to have a good season with tyrod Taylor throwing a bunch of check down passes.

I think they can get a second round pick for him.

A 3 and 6 would be fair imo

Cooks has been traded three times in his career already for two first round picks and second. He had over 1,100 receiving yards last season. He’s worth at least a second round pick.

Saints traded cooks to the Patriots for a 1st round pick. Patriots traded him to the rams for a first round pick. Then after an injury riddled season, he was traded to the Texans for a second round pick.

Reaction from the posters when Roby makes some sly comment about his time with the Patriots South Div II?

A.) He's just mad he got traded.
B.) Glad we got his azz outta here. Steroids much, breh?
C.) Patriots culture is the best!
D.)Can we just fastforward to the 2022 draft already.

Yes, I’m aware of this. The “huh” was I don’t know where that’s coming from. I never said anything about Cooks.

20 million cash is 20 million cash regardless of salary cap space. Oftentimes, returns on trades are less if a team is taking on salary across all sports.

Smart of the Texans to convert his salary to signing bonus IF it fetches a good return as far as draft compensation is concerned. This type of thinking is something that the Texans have lacked in the past. I like that Caserio isn't loading the team up with veterans and attempting to "win". He has the balls to admit that this is a dumpster fire with Watson leaving and that the team will not win enough games to do anything....... try to get the #1 pick and hope that one of the 3-4 QB's in this draft takes the next step and becomes a possible franchise QB..... trade the veterans you have, even if you only get 3rd and 4th rounders and hope you draft well.....

    True very savy of Caserio.

Almost like Texans buying a pick.

I think after we go 0-8 Management will panic and play Deshaun. We are not an 0-17 with one of the top 5 qbs in the league, but we are definitely an 0-17 team the way currently constructed.

This changes the compensation expectations quite a bit. They’ve got to get at least a third now and probably a fifth. Maybe even a little better than that.
