That’s fair, but then he also calls plays like the shot to Nico on the first play of the last game of the season against the Colts.. I also thinks he calls pass plays on early downs more than ppl think.

    my problems with him are:
    • Zero adjustments
    • So many condensed formations allowing them to disguise blitzes
    • Plays are long-developing and our OLine sucks
    • Relies too heavily on Mixon and Nico.
I refuse to believe Diggs and Dell have totally lost it and can’t separate. We aren’t calling the right plays.

If CJ truly does not have 3+ plays he can pick and choose/ audible to at every snap, that is a fireable offense. His presnap read ability has to be leaned on because he IS the offense, not the coaches. I remember Kubes' "first 20 plays are already scripted" offense and I wanted to throw up then. The NFL, at the highest level, is about adjustments, no matter the quarter, time, or situation and the onus needs to be placed on the QB, assuming he is capable of making these reads. I believe CJ is more than capable of executing these reads and if I'm wrong, fine. Let's find out now in his 2nd year, before the huge, inevitable contract comes. If the governor is on CJ, then I don't believe they are really serious about going all the way. Take the training wheels off and see if he can be THAT GUY.

While I agree with all of this. I do feel like my biggest concerns for him coming out of college was handling pressure. It hasn’t looked the case until recently. But if we can’t fix the pressure issue and he struggles against it, then we’re killing ourselves. Whenever I watch a play and he has all the time he needs. I just expect a great completion. So either make it to where we can get him the time, or get him better at handling it.

When I think about QBs having struggles with pressure, I usually associate it with turnovers. QBs get shell shocked and run out of bounds (remember Carr?) or start throwing picks (remember Schaub and the pick 6s?), fumbles, etc. I don't see that with CJ. This dude is just getting NO time to get a play going, but - to his credit - he isn't turning it over. He'll throw it out of bounds or eat it, but he won't turn it over. The team just has to find a way to give CJ more than 1.5 seconds to make a play.

We're literally incapable of scoring of 2nd half TDs with Slowik. Absolute trash.

16 points today if not for the gifted interception due to Colts incompetence at the end of the half.

Every time I see this thread bumped, I’m hoping for a title change to “fire.”

Two weeks in a row where the concept of wasting the other teams timeouts has over risen more important goals in the game.

The issue is... The opposing teams DC will adjust and Bobby does not...

Bobby wants to call plays that take a long time to develop when the defense is blitzing.. This is a disaster every single time.

It was interesting that even Tiki called and said that the Texans offense was predictable,...

Wow, I am very surprised at the results of the past week and really expected Bobby to make some changes but it was the same thing as last week. I am all for giving this guy a long leash but if wont change anything what the hell are we doing.................at a minimum Green should be regulated to back up and hold these guys accountable, I get that we cant make whole sale changes in season but at least bench Green who has no business playing...........Nick has done so much for this team, but this one is a flop, call it and move on

    Fraud Alert!

They've awarded $131 million in guaranteed money to their offensive linemen. Only one other team the Carolina Panthers, who have guaranteed $166 million has guaranteed more.

Slowik was ranked #3 of offensive coordinators entering 2024

    3. Bobby Slowik, Houston Texans
A first-time offensive coordinator, Slowik exceeded all expectations in his first season in Houston. Despite having a rookie quarterback and an inexperienced offensive line that was hit with a lot of injuries, the Texans' offense led the team into the playoffs and to a postseason win.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud was under pressure on 35.4% of dropbacks, which was the 18th-best rate out of 41 quarterbacks. In addition, Slowik got a breakout season out of wide receiver Nico Collins, who finished the season with an elite 91.4 PFF overall grade to rank third at the position.
