I rarely got the sense that he was outwitting his opponent or was two steps ahead. He always seemed may e a quarter step ahead or falling back right even to what the opponent thought they were going to do. He was probably good at developing Stroud and all the other intangibles. His play calling, outside of a few occasions, seems to be just a step away from giving our guys the advantage.
I don't have sources, but I have an interesting quote to pass along from a pretty solid source (like rock solid... meaning don't question it): Basically if Demeco Ryans could have had Klint Kubiak as OC, Bobby Slowik would never have been apart of the Texans. That's not a knock on Bobby, at all. It's just more telling as to who Demeco's first choice was, in my opinion.
Yep, you're smarter than most owners when it comes to hiring HC's. Never mind the fact that Seattle has won SB's, Blank should've won a SB, Harris has a good track record as the 76ers owner etc...
Not totally sure. Just passing a quote along. Maybe he was worried about the situation here? Or maybe he just would rather have been in San Fran and wants to rise through the ranks? This is second hand info from a reliable source, though my source doesn't pry.
That's not true. Klint didn't want to come here, apparently. Or at the very least, Demeco couldn't have gotten him here.
I get the feeling if Slowik leaves then Jerrod would stay here as OC. My question is what if someone like eagles or browns hire Jerrod as OC before Slowik gets an offer, or not at all. Then we lose Jerrod and probably Slowik next year while not having Jerrod QB coach too
There are much more than 4 other coaches that are just as qualify or better qualify than Slowik out there.
I'd be interested to know who that was. Feel free to message me as to who they are, if you don't want to disclose that publicly. Hell, it might be a smaller world than we think. They might be closer to my source than you think. But still not as legit as my source, likely. Interesting, altogether. Remember, I'm just sharing a quote.
Nick Caley Bobby Slowik Troy Walters Kliff Kingsbury …interviewed last year Also “had discussions” with Klint Kubiak (last year). Spoiler They do have some former coordinators on staff. Shane Day (former Chargers pass game coordinator) Bill Lazor (former Bears/Bengals/Dolphins OC) Ben McDaniels - current pass game coordinator And of course could promote (or lose) Jerrod Johnson. Sure, there are nits to pick but I wouldn’t rush Slowik out the door or celebrate him leaving. “We’ll be fine. We won’t miss him.” Don’t agree.
