Will be interesting to see how Slowik schemes this week as Balty has pretty much dismantled this style of offense vs Hou, San Fran, and Miami.
Purdy lost that game for SF. That loss is on his 4 int. Houston was just an acorn of the team it is now when we played in week 1. Miami….yeah Tua. The Rams almost beat them by dropping 30+ on them and taking them to OT in Crackmore. We run a similar offense as the Rams. They feast on teams with mid to trash QBs. Top 10 QBs give them trouble. Ie Stafford and Burrows. Shoot even the one armed sex pervert beat them.
4 total TD’s in 12 quarters and all 3 double digits below their scoring average. I mean, I guess I see your semantics point?
I like the optimism but this Balty D is on a greatness level, according to DVOA. This is a very tough task for Slowik. https://www.ftnfantasy.com/articles/FTN/113797/final-2023-dvoa-ratings
San Fran threw 5 interceptions but out gained Baltimore by about 150 yards. They were the only ones stopping themselves that day. I think 3 of the interceptions were tipped. They still only lost by 14. Interesting definition of dismantled.
I guess the D did not earn any of those turnovers? My word seeing this Balty D for what it is as a tough task has people triggered.
Well... they didn't dominate the Texans, in Week One they dominated Purdy, but not the Niners If you think Stroud will Pull A Purdy...then the Texans will get dominated. I have no idea what will happen, but saying "past stuff = future stuff" doesn't really matter to me.
No, nobody is disagreeing with you that it's a tough task. People are just disagreeing with your definition of dismantled.
Ok fine. They dismantled Miami, shut out the Texans from the end zone, and made life very difficult for Purdy causing havoc. Sheesh.
Meh...Miami had been trending down for a bit, and Baltimore pretty much iced that cake. Both teams are better than they were in Week1, I really just want a good game.
Yes, again, it will be interesting to see Slowiks scheme, he will need to be uber creative. He does have it in him. Im certainly not sleeping on the best D in the NFL, in winter, at home, and he certainly isn’t either. This is a massive challenge for us and hopefully we can rise to the occasion.
Guys from the 49ers coaching tree is a top commodity, and they've been picked over a ton already. Slowik has the most experience, with success of anyone available, if a team wants to go that route, even though its only 1 year.
Steelers, Colts and Browns all beat the Ravens. We were much better against the Browns our second time against them this year. Here’s to hoping we’re much better against the Ravens our second time against them. I think this team has a punchers chance against anyone at this point assuming we don’t have any significant injuries.
A team will offer Slowik a HC opportunity because hiring young offensive play callers from the Shanahan tree is the trend right now. Everyone wants another McVay, LaFleur, McDaniel etc. It just depends on whether he wants to take it or spend another year learning as an OC if he feels he's not ready yet.
