I was wondering about that. Did you see the flight of that ball? It was like a wounded duck. I think it was a problem with the hold, so blame (or credit) Chad Stanley.
If we get the number one pick and they draft Bush that's great, I prefer they trade the pick. this is not the NBA. One player does not change your team, ask O.J., Walter Payton, Gale Sayers, Barry Sanders, Eric Dickerson, or any other HOF running back who toilded in mediocrity his whole career. Hell, ask Earl.
good point. i'm leaning towards hoping they take bush. but i've waffled so much on this. i don't think it's nearly the no-brainer that so many people do. they need help all over the place. and they have a very hyped asset that might fall in their hands..which they could trade away and address those many problems.
i was told once (by a source i considered reliable at the time) that if a game ends 0-0 in regulation, there is no overtime. it's just a tie. i haven't done the research, i just think it's a funny possibility.
I dont think they are tanking, I just think they are that bad. I almost wish they were tanking so we would at least know there not as bad as they look. I would love to have Bush (snicker) but it would be very tempting to take that pick and trade down for additional draft picks.
I recorded the game. I will check it out when I get home tonight. If they are stupid enough to laugh about it, they shouldn't be surprised if people confront them about it.
I agree to a point. Maybe I'm naive, but I truly think this team is a playermaker, coach, good GM and 2 years away from being a perenial playoff team. If we get Bush, a new coach (Kubiak, JJ, Mooch) and a good GM this offseason, I think the franchise will be back on track. I'm NOT saying we'll go to the Superbowl next year. I'm just saying that we'll be back on schedule. We sort of got off schedule this year (obviously).
Certain players that are under contract and are not going anywhere (Brown and Stanley) probably would love to get #1 pick. Brown sure didn't look THAT upset after the kick....didn't drop to the ground in disbelief. He just jogged off the field. Other players that are not as established are playing HARD....Mathis, CC Brown, Davis (eventhough he IS established and under contract).... I mean if it's the final game and the difference between a win and lose is the #1 pick, they HAVE to tank. What would a win do? Build Morale? Maybe the final game Carr, Davis, Johnson, Mathis all sit...that would be awesome. They start Dave Ragone!!!!
