Taylor's style is somewhat similar to Watson's. Pass first, but has the wheels to run. It's important to have a backup QB that can plug-and-play with the same style if the starter goes down. This would point to the Texans planning on keeping Watson. The contract looks like backup money, albeit high-end backup money. Now, if you want to take the other side of the argument, then I can see that as well. Taylor was on the Chargers to buy time for rookie Justin Herbert to take the reigns. Might he be signed to do the same for a rookie QB that the Texans draft? Possibly. Overall, it's a perfect signing for both scenarios. Extremely well-played by the Texans. Bravo.
Sorry for butting in but the problem I have is the talent pool shrinks dramatically when you prioritize certain players because of religion Which handicaps them against the rest of the league. This not the best way to build a winning franchise.
It’s still just assumption that the Texans are actually doing that. Easy confirmation bias seeing how the majority of the league is Christian. I wouldn’t put it past them but signing these players doesn’t confirm it.
Only reason? Nah.... but they probably are more comfortable signing him based on his belief system, because he fits their culture well. Is that "wrong", I don't know....... I know a lot of Mormons that hire other Mormons because of work ethic, and assumptions are made based on belief systems.... is that "wrong"? Where does the line get crossed? I really don't know. Ultimately religion is going to peter out, it has been for a long time in the West and has made massive changes in just my lifetime but for now. Having said that, I have never heard anyone say a single negative thing about Taylor as a man...... and he is a black QB, and we have a black head coach.... and we had a black GM before, so that narrative is gone at least.
Quincy Avery made this comment 2 off seasons ago and I remember eye rolling. https://ifunny.co/picture/private-q...cy-avery-says-tyrod-taylor-can-have-HmpayyOZ7 If Avery turns out to be right, you might want to enroll Davis in one of his Qb seminars.
