early in the year, Dobbins looked horrible but he made some big quality plays later in the year...especially in the playoffs. He's nice veteran depth/savvy

While James' best days are likely behind him, he does know Wade Phillips' system, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to build some veteran depth at linebacker in the wake of DeMeco Ryans' move to Philadelphia.

I'm good with it, but hope that Sharpton still wins the job. I'm not sure James is going to be what he was pre-injury, especially in regards to burst and range...critical qualities in this scheme. I'll be disappointed if being "Wade's guy" puts him over Sharpton without on-field merit.

I at least hope there's a good rotation.

methinks tackles isn't a real good indicator of overall worth.

The fact that Morlon Greenwood led the Texans in tackles one year pretty much serves as Exhibit A-Z on this.

love the signing. was already on board with the demeco trade--this just solidies the fact that the texans aren't stupid (which had to be the assumption of people who were hating on the demeco trade with months of offseason still to go)

@McClain_on_NFL: ILB Bradie James gets 1 yr, $825 base, $65 SB. $250 is guaranteed. $605 cap figure.

Same here. Not complaining about this signing, but really wanted London Fletcher. Have been a fan of his since I heard him do an interview with Rome years ago.

you're either joking (in that case lol) or you don't realize those are in thousands. it's just shortened because of twitter speak (i hope).

I want Wade (and his coaches) in charge of everything on defense. Rick Smith sucks goat balls. Vance Joseph said Jonathan Joseph was the best player available, and he was right.

you give wade whatever he asks for. he knows exactly what he needs for his 3-4 defense.

everybody was panicking about the demeco trade, now we maybe got his replacement.

So dont judge until the offseason is over, I dont know why people were panicking when the texans were losing players and not adding anyone (besides re-signing two of the most important FAs in our team) in the first two weeks of free agency.

whne the free agency frenzy cools down players will ask for less money and thats when the texans can make some moves.

I think it's a good move they signed James and resigned Dobbins. Two ILB vets, Sharpton and Cushing is a nice rotation. But I guess we'll draft another LB, probably OLB.

It was a (stupid) joke about (in my opinion) poor journalism (twitter or not).

You know we still haven't replaced Mario, Winston, Vickers, and Brisiel yet.

This is the first good move of a pretty awful offseason.
