Not that it matters to anyone here but Ed Reed thanks the Ravens in full page ad in the Baltimore Sun.

I can't even imagine Reed's first speech in the Texans locker room. True leader.

I don't think we can bank on the potential of reeds beard as his age. It is what it is, a decent beard but not HoF beard.

Texans are far more concerned about the 2014 and 2015 cap hits because of Cushing and Watt.

Don't expect any other significant FA signings this year, just small dollar one year deals. They might even wait until the draft so they know for certain where they'll need help (ILB a good bet).

    Ed Reed's 3-year, $15M deal has a $2M signing bonus, $1M '13 roster bonus, $3M '13 base salary & $4M '14 base salary & $5M '15 base salary.

Ed Reed's '13 salary cap number is $3,333,332. His $2M guaranteed '13 base salary advance is treated as signing bonus on the cap.

    Ed Reed's $2M guaranteed '13 base salary advance counts $666,666 on the '13 & '14 cap. It counts $666,668 in '15.

Former Houston Texan Glover Quin is making $6.25M in '13 while Ed Reed is at $6M.

Spotrac has 2013 cap hits for Reed $3.33m, McCain $1.35 and Lechler $1.34 = approx $6m

How much Cap Room do the Texans have left? what did they start off with?

Think i remember hearing they had around 10 or 11 at the beginning of FA.

4 million is probably needed to sign the draft class.

Don't think there is much wiggle room at this point, but I do anticipate Antonio Smith restructuring and saving a few million.

so is there any hope of bringing in a Veteren WR for the money we have left?

How much money do you think A Julian Edelman or Brandon Lloyd would cost?

I thought the available cap room numbers were adjusted to include draft pick slotting?
