Whether 3 or 13, he was starting because the starters were injured, he was never intended to start and the Cowboys had zero plans to start him in the future. Those of us who follow them are trying to tell you this (on top of this guy getting relentlessly toasted--the weak link in the secondary even in nickle sits)--which you seem incapable of grasping without coping a big attitude about it.

You can call Ron Dayne a "starting" player too if you want. And Ron Dayne is a better running back than Reeves is a DB.

The year before Dallas had a "starting" rookie tackle named Pettiti who they promptly cut the next offseason, and yes he did nada the next year with a new team. (he only started because of injuries)

According to the Chronicle, the signing bonus is 'only' $4 mil. If he turns out to be a bust, you can cut him and essentially take a 1 year salary cap hit right at his yearly salary. That isn't so bad.

Well, as a cowboy fan, not sure you're improving much, but definitely have depth now...He got burned a lot, but so do other CB's and other cowbyos (RoyW)...

Reeves had a chance to prove himself last year and he didn't make an lasting impression. So he's Dallas' trash. Houston's looking to find a diamond in the rough and hoping a new defensive scheme can help out Reeves.

    Amen.

Why won't some of you listen to Cowboy fans who've seen this guy play?

Reeves did start 13 games last season out due to injuries. Anthony Henry missed a total of 3 games and an additional 3 starts due to injuries (6 starts total). Terence Newman missed 3 games and an additional 2 starts due to injuries (5 starts total). Right there are 11 starts that went Reeves way because of injuries.

Reeve's previous three years in the league...1 start.

Addressing this quote: "Fans don't remember successful passes defended, only those which are failures. Opposing QB’s went after him, but he seems to have handled it reasonably well."

There is a reason why QB's threw on him a lot....Because he isn't very good. Period. And with all those plays going his way this past season he managed 1 INT and a decent 12 Pass Deflections.

This guy is not a starting CB in the NFL because he simply doesn't have the talent. But somehow Houston decided to pay him like one. I hope he can prove me wrong but after four years of seeing this guy play I don't think that will happen.
