It does seem interesting to me. Makes me wonder if O'Brien's input on this decision wasn't quite as driving as we might assume. Because if BO'B was stumping for Osweiler, one would think he would want to meet the guy before he signs off on the contract offer. Or maybe Bill is just one of those guys that only worries about talent and ability and doesn't concern himself too much with how a QB's personality would mesh with his own.
BUT I THOUGHT NOTED FOOTBALL SAVANT JOHN ELWAY DIDN'T WANT BROCK!?!? http://deadspin.com/the-broncos-want-to-find-the-next-brock-osweiler-1766353222

Did any of the Texans front office fly to denver? My presumption was this was mostly handled through his agent, and via phone. There were no "showing up at the front door at midnight with an iPad for Bosh", or "Hakeem-Clyde traveling contingent to meet with Dwight Howard" type meetings. Pretty sure they got BOB's permission to go after him (most articles say that they targeted Brock fairly early int he whole process)... if not, that would be entirely dumb.
In the NBA, the stars are divas and want to be held to some god like standard. You have GM's waiting on doorsteps with iPads and so on. You have to really court these guys and make them feel good lol. If you don't, they get butthurt. In the NFL, it doesn't seem as intense. It's just business.
Yeah, just business AND the floodgates open almost instantly with NFL free agency. Not much time for staggered restaurant/hotel meetings and five city tours. The first domino falls a lot earlier with NFL free agency.
I'm loving all the bulletin board material out there for our team. It seems like the headlines have gone from "Brock Osweiler- the next great Denver QB" to "Why the hell is Brock Osweiler making so much?" Such butthurt.
