There's something I don't get. People say that Elway is a genius GM and recognizes talent and wouldn't let one just leave. Well, the great Elway has stayed away from RG3, Fitzpatrick, and Kaepernick. So, if you trust him as much as you do, what do you say the Texans should have done? Trade for Sanchez?

Even Elway had to know that Brock was the best of the available QBs outside of the draft. That's why he tried to keep him.

The Texans just need to hit on their draft picks and continue to build the team. They can't count on Brock being Brady but maybe he can be Flacco .

Texans had to swing the bat and Brock is a good prospect on the field. Elway has been to two Super Bowl games in the past few years and is confident that he can find a QB. Whether it's true or not Brockweiler is a Texan.

Elway is not perfect. No one is. We can't assume every move he makes is the right one. So he is confident in Mark Sanchez? Even if that works out for them, it means they have a system in place that can succeed with a journeyman backup. The Texans don't. So they need Brock. My point was that most that hate the signing wanted RG3, Fitzpatrick, or a high daft pick. Elway thinks the first two options are not worth it and the third option is a long shot and would likely require a ton of picks. And the draft isn't till a couple of months. By the time that happened, all the free agent QBs worth signing would be gone.

The broncos are trying to get kaep, but at the price they want. I have seen kaep carry a team. I have not seen Brock do that yet.

Did you watch Kaepernick the last two years? Many feel he's been hit one too many times, and he's now suffering what from a lot of QB's suffer from when they "lose it". Plenty of examples of QB's losing it in this fashion in this league.

Brock may not have carried a team... but he hasn't looked as awful has Kaepernick has the last 2 years.

That's exactly how I feel. People love Elway, the guy who drafted and offered a deal to Osweiler, but think we're the idiots for offering him just $3 million more? TO THE GUY THEIR BELOVED ELWAY LIKED MOST?!

Says who? The reports that were released about the Broncos interest in Colin all came out of the Bay Area. They all stopped after the Sanchez trade. Plus if Karpernick was Elway's plan all along, why did he wait till they don't have any QB before pursuing the trade? At this point they look desperate and the price is going to go up. Karpernick did not "carry" that team to the Super Bowl.

This is weird. I can say I've seen RG3 carry a team. I've seen Peyton carry a team. I've seen Dwight Howard carry a team. Seeing those things 3 or more years ago doesn't mean they will necessarily happen again.

I'd rather take the last 2 years of evidence than point to something further back and hope. It's not like we can say Kap has time to grow...he isn't young or inexperienced anymore.

Brock has growth ahead of him. And even if we wanted to ignore that, I'd take his performance last year over Kap's.

LOL Kap carried the 9ers just like Tebow carried the Broncos.

I'm getting there myself. If the Texans can make the playoffs with TJ Yates as their best QB, I want to see what they can do with Brock. I'm not expecting him to be a world beater, just greatly improved from the trash we had last season.

He had some pretty big games the year they got to the superbowl. I remember he destroyed the packers. Was pretty good against the falcons and ravens after the blackout. You just have recency bias. He might suck now, but he was very good the year they got to the superbowl.

That is an idiotic comparison. Tebow never had a season like Kap's 2012. Or a playoff run like that year. Or a playoff game where he passed for 250 and 2 TDs and rushed for almost 200 more yards and another 2TDs. He was THE FUTURE and defences didn't know what to do against him. It all came crashing down and he was figured out and has been worse every year since but don't act like he was always garbage and Tebow-like. The 49ers absolutely won because of him or, at least, because Harbaugh coached to his strengths. The Broncos had to coach to minimise Tebow's flaws which actually meant they didn't run anything resembling an offence.

At least this year we will have something to be excited about. We don't really know at this point what we have in Osweiler. But last year we knew what we had with Hoyer, and it was impossible to be excited about that. This year we at least have a chance at improved QB play.

He will become better than Eli Manning but not better than Peyton.

    We're in for a treat, ya'll!

    Get ready.
