I knew this thread would appear. And I kind of knew who would be starting it. It's not going to happen, so really....why argue about it? You have to be a boy scout to play for the Texans. Sometimes that even takes precedence over ability (David Carr, Amobi Okoye).
This is the one thing that drives me nuts about Houston sport teams. Fans want the "good ole boys" instead of the most talented. We have a "family atmosphere" at games instead of a hostile one. Sigh.
I understand he's Randy Moss but it'd be a dumb move. It could cause chemistry problems on offense. If you guys pick anybody up it should be on defense, you have Peyton Manning tonight and Phillip Rivers on Sunday. That pass D is going to suffer.
Moss is still a top 3 receiver in terms of talent, but he doesn't solve any ddefensive problems the texans have. I obviosly wouldn't mind adding the 2nd best receiver of all time, but recievers are a strength on the team
The Texans culture couldn't handle a personality like Moss. Kubiak and Shaub wouldn't get the respect of Moss so he would walk all over them with his baby temper tantrums. It just wouldn't work. I think it would be Indy or NE.
Knowing our luck, the Colts will get him within the hour, put him in pads, have him run fly routes all night, and then release him to the Titans just in time for our game against them.
But NE didn't let go of Moss because he quit on routes or whatever it is you claim. They didn't want to give him an extension, just like all of the players getting up there in age, they don't like to pay them and knew it was going to be a problem.
So, NE traded a guy, in the middle of a playoff run, because they didn't want to pay him after the season? A guy who was then *cut* three weeks later? What, Minny didn't want to pay him an extension either? This ain't the NBA or MLB. Midseason trades are rare. And if you think the Moss trade was solely about not having to deal with a contract negotiation, you need to wake up and smell the coffee. This is two teams that "quit" on this quitter in the space of four weeks.
The only reciever the Texans have better than Moss is Andre Johnson. If Andre goes down the Texans get average very quickly! David Anderson? Please! Those two together would drive defenses crazy & open up the run game. If the Texans aren't going be able to stop anybody (and they're not) your offense better score like a machine! Dude as far as him quitting on plays, I'd love to see just half of the a$$holes how spout this nonsense off, to go run 35 to 40 "Streak routes" a game and see if they wouldn't take a play or two off! It's like running track going deep & keeping those Deep FS's honest.
So they let go of him because he is a distraction when he doesn't get paid and/or doesn't get the ball? And how would that be different here? You think the Texans are just going to claim him and give him the extension he wants?
