I'm thinking 6 atleast, and 8 or 9 at most.

    Over.

If not, I'll actually be displeased, even with the tough schedule.

With this schedule, I would be shocked if the Texans went 6-10.

haha isnt that why we took mario williams? if he doesnt solve every single problem that we will ever have on defense for the history of our franchise he's worthless :p

i expect him to get 50 sacks, shed blockers, run the entire field in under 1.5 seconds, intercept 15 passes, rush for 1500 yards, recieve for 1000 yards, score 30 TDs, turn into god, bake me a cake, get 3500 all-purpose yards, kick 250 field goals, pass for 6000 yards, and buy me season tickets. if he doesnt do that, i would go back in time and pick bush

I dont the Texans deserve to win more than 5. Passing up on Reggie Bush was a mistake Houston will always be infamous for. If anything mediocre describes the team as awhole. With Bush, the Texans would have had a powerful and explosive weapon. Bush would have been that special standout player who would have been the face of the Houston Texans for the next decade. Drafting Mario Williams in my opinion was too conservative. Not one player really stands out in my mind at any position on the roster. I think managment needs to quit being so conservative and take an aggressive approach to winning. I feel sometimes the Texans lack common sense when it comes to scouting players whether they are drafting or persuing in free agency.

wait... wouldn't drafting a sure thing like bush be the more conservative rou -- ah, never mind... deaf ears and all.

seriously, it's been 3.5 months; time to move on.

    If three things happen

1 The coaching is improved, it is almost impossible not to

2 the o-line improves, it should at least a little

3 The defense stops the run.

    They will win 6-9 games

Other than three or four teams in the whole NFL you never have a clue how things will play out.

A "hard schedule" can turn into a bunch of 6-10 teams and a so called "easy schedule" might end up being murders row.

Right now four games seem to be real tough, both vs Indy and then at New England and home vs Washington other than that who knows. This is the NFL and anything can and will happen.

I think I can be sure of two things

    1. the Texans will not win the super bowl
    2. they will turn it around and win 6 or more games (I think 7 to 9 wins is very realistic)

I was thinking 6-7 -- but with DD's knee giving him grief in the summer already all bets are off. I still think the Texans will win 5 games though -- there is talent on that team.

When he was out with injury, Tony Banks looked worse. And, Dave Ragone, when he got a shot, was a disaster.

    He was the best option.

To begin with, I say just BE competitive. Dont be a freakin patsy. I think that much will be solved. We finally have legitimate NFL coaching who knows what the hell they're doing. They have picked up good productive veterans not space takers. Kalu, Anthony Wright, Antowain Smith, Moulds. We just had our best draft ever for addressing needs. No Bush I know but ...

One thing to consider, Williams' combine numbers we either comparable or superceded those of Julius Peppers and everyone knows what a stud he is. We get production like that 10+ sacks, commands double teams, wreaks havoc in the backfield then this was a very good pick for the Texans.

Another thing to consider, the Broncos won super bowls drafting a sixth rounder named Terrell Davis. I'm not saying Wali Lundy will be T.D. but again when you have good coaching they can help upgrade talent because they will properly utilize talent and develop it!

To round out, Demeco Ryans and those two "sleeper" offensive linemen picks could have us surprising a lot of teams.

I will say 7 to 9 wins. 8-8 would not be a bad start to a new era. Lets see what happens.

Wow when your on the outside looking in its pretty ridiculous that anyone thinks the Texans have a shot to win more than 5 games. The Cleveland Browns have a better team for God sakes. You cant even argue with that. and im gonna get blasted for this but ohh well..I cant wait for the season to start....HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!!....say what you want, but I know you would trade your team for the Cowboys team this year in a heartbeat. Shoulda drafted Reggie Bush.....now its just the boring old Texans for another year......

DD is hurt. Knee injuries are lingering. It's going to be a problem for him all year. With no running game, defenses are going to blitz Carr like crazy. And the Texans are arguably playing the best division this year(NFC East) to along with 2 games against JAX and IND and don't forget about NE as well.

Whatever ... bandwagoner. That's one thing you can say is Cowboy fans have no loyalty. If this team craps ... people in little d will scream to have Parcells head on a silver platter. So go on and cheer for your dear little cowgirls.

This is a good thread to stir things up.

I'll take the over. I think we'll win 6 or 7. Winning 8 is really pushing it.

    Watch us in 12.
