There's always next year those middle rounds could land a starting TE & at worst some exceptional backup o linemen

This doesn't mean he can't be cut before training camp. Nothing is guaranteed.

I can still see them taking Hackenberg if he falls. Depends on how much they like Savage.

I was also hoping they would draft one of the QB'S in the draft.

It's a pretty terrible QB class and the Texans most likely have the guy they are going to go with for the next several years already. I understand it if they don't pick one.

Hack may get drafted higher than OB wants to burn a pick. This is a smart move and gives us 2 solid back-ups. I like it. Now let's get us a pick for Hoyer. He has value given the options currently remaining.

After giving Fitz away when we had him locked up under a nice contract I'm not going to hold my breath.

I would be shocked if we get anything for Hoyer. We have to drop him sooner than later. Some team will deal with him then.

Texans got a 6th round pick for Fitzpatrick when he put up 17 TD 8 INT.
Texans got a 6th round pick for Schaub when he put up 10 TD/ 14 INT in his last season in Houston
Brain Hoyer just put up 19 TD/7 INT with a 91.4 QB rating. Someone will give up a late round pick for that.

Why would anyone be upset if the Texans didn't draft a QB at this point? They've already committed to a legit starter (Brock), have a project behind him (Savage), and signed an experienced vet (Weeden). What more do you want them to do to shore up the position?

    Force of habit, I guess?

I agree. There is no reason in the world to draft a QB this year. Not even in the late rounds.

Why not? They are allowed like 70 players at the beginning of camp. Weeden is not a lock to make the team. Remember they signed Stevie Brown last year before cutting him.

Its hard for them to change once dogma has been set forth in front of them.
