Ill preface me making this thread by saying I've dropped over $5000 in season tickets, parking passes, playoff tickets and texans merchandise this season. Just another disappointing season where the Texans lead the whole city to believe they were legitimate contenders and ended up choking away home field advantage and then coming short against what I felt was a beatable Patriots team.
I actually think he'd be a slight upgrade over Schaub. He doesn't have a monster arm but he's got more poise and will scramble and improvise more. I think Rivers is the classic "i need new scenery" guy. I'd do that
he used to be magic tho. ok, lets bring in Tebow for cheap to run the wildcat!! maybe Kubes can do more with him than Rex Ryan.

They didn’t lose this game because of Matt Schaub. Schaub is a good qb just not great. He’s not the problem. The Texans defense couldn’t stop the Pats offense. You give up 41 points. You lose. 647 61 i Rate This nyjets1017 says: Jan 13, 2013 8:47 PM The Jets will trade him for Sanchez straight up 333 40 i Rate This jakec4 says: Jan 13, 2013 8:48 PM They aren’t exactly loaded at receiver. I’d try upgrading there before throwing Schaub away. There is nobody better to go out and get. Unless you think Yates is the answer. 145 14 i Rate This tedmurph says: Jan 13, 2013 8:48 PM Texans are still an outstanding team with a lot of outstanding players. They’ll be a contender next year. Shaub’s a good QB. Doesn’t have a lot of playoff experience. I’m sure every team wants an elite QB, but they don’t grow on trees. A tweak here and there, a good offseason and draft, some better luck with injuries and they’ll be fine. Just ran into a buzzsaw tonite.
you don't need mobility when you have instinct and pocket awareness. see: drew brees, peyton manning, tom brady. nfl draft is barren of qb's this year. maybe teddy bridgewater. here's a lightning-in-a-bottle "vet" flier suggestion: colt mccoy. although he can't seem to stay on the field. playing on a team that crappy with nobody to throw to isn't much of an indicator if he's worth a dime.
As a stop gap until we can draft "the guy," we could probably get Matt Flynn from Seattle without giving a whole lot in return.
I agree with this. A team can only have one weakness at a time. And since the defense was bad, it means all other parts of the team performed great and should not be looked at for improvement.
