Hirings and firings are easier to do financially than splashy trades and signings.

Last offseason was pretty splashy, even if ineffective, for the Astros.

yeah, good point. And I agree, was only talking about this offseason.. and I fully support waiting until the end of the offseason to judge it. Doesn't change the fact that it's been relatively quiet so far and that the Texans have made noise quickly

attack..aggressive..violent..passion..? I'm starting to feel allright about Frank Bush...He is talking my language, and he knows the players..Demeco Ryans is pumped and ready to go already...He has been influenced by good mentors...So far, he is doing the right thing by making it clear the Richard Smith "prevent defense-play it soft style" is no more.

I suspect he will have a big say in the draft as well.

46 Defense rebirth? who knows, but if the talk matches, I'll be pumped....

The talk all sounds great. Can't wait to see if the do matches it.

Here's to the return of the House of Pain.

My bad, I meant to say No Worries. He was wondering about the say Bush would have in firings and hirings.

I must say that it sounds like Mr. Bush is saying all the right things. If nothing else I get the sense he is going to make a better attempt to use the talents of our D-line to their full potential instead of asking a guy like Okoye to do something he doesn't excel at. If we could get a jump in production from our D-line, primarily in putting pressure on the QB, then our secondary will magically seem to get better as well.

Yeah, details are a little sketchy, but he was a very promising young linebacker for the Oilers. As I recall he had a minor injury which led to the detection of an inherent defect (I think it was spinal) that put him at unusual risk for paralysis so he went to work for the organization off the field.

Some odd reason it reminded me of this scene from Remember the Titans.

Kubiak will always have a hand in it. . . . I generally would not expect anything less
