If any of the QB's this season were throwing for over 300 yards a game (which is what it would take for them to be top 3 in yards) then no one would complain about it. Actually, that was the case with Andrew Luck in his rookie year, he was top 10 in yards with a low completion percentage, a low QB rating and a lot of interceptions. Context like throwing the ball over 600 times can explain those picks and low QB rating so no one was really concerned about it. Now if he came out throwing a ton of picks with a low QB rating and was only throwing for 211 yards per game it would have been a totally different story. This is a really poor rookie QB crop by just about any measure, the best of them all so far being Derek Carr.
I really wasn't proven wrong, I was just trying to move on. There's no point in arguing with the cult of Teddy any more than there is a point arguing with Lin fans, Manziel fans, or VY fans. They live in a world of their own.
I'll put it this way, if the Texans traded down for a QB only to have that QB throw more than twice as many picks as TDs with one of the worst QB ratings in the league....how do you think the fans would react to that? Yet for some reason since certain players are sucking for other teams, those brilliant fans spin it as if the Texans are missing out.
Hmm... so a QB is only good if they throw for a lot of yards? Another stat... Manning's Yards per attempt was 6.5. Bridgewater's so far... 6.8 .
Again, I've already invited you to hold out hope for your draft crush as long as you like. Just because me, and the rest of the sane world, have moved on from that, is no reason for you to do so as well. I get it, you think he's a gamer, a baller, a play maker, a shot caller, a force of competitive nature.....statistics to the contrary be damned.
The Texans could have drafted Bridgewater with their second pick (coupled with another pick). Instead, they drafted XSF, CJ, and Nix. And then took a flyer on Tom Savage and Ryan Mallett. And next season, they will be in the same or worse position... trying to trade for a veteran placeholder and praying to strike gold with a less attractive draft position.
Yeah, we could have drafted one of the worst QB's in the NFL, instead we drafted to shore up other positions for the future. I know you wanted Teddy Tebow, but the team didn't, and judging by how he's looked so far, it's a good thing.
The point you're missing is those rookie QB's are throwing a lot and asked to do much more than Fitzpatrick... None of those rookie quarterbacks have Foster to hand the ball off to... Or AJ and Nuk to throw to. You can't automatically assume they would do the same in a different situation were they are not being asked to win games and just manage. Situations are important... If the situation didn't matter _ Kurt Warner wouldn't have sucked in New York.
Why did this other QB fecal matter appear in this thread...seriously. This is all about Pickett...and yall totally derailed the thread. Back to the topic at hand...Pickett has tremendously helped in run defense... http://hou.scout.com/story/1474877-ryan-pickett-from-the-couch-to-the-texans
Is Clowney next? Might as well, how much has he played this season? The Texans need to "outsource" the draft function. They clearly don't have a clue.
The bullet hit his sternum and is now inside his lung. They are doing surgery but he is alive so far.
